Cicatricial phimosis and its treatment

Cicatricial phimosis is a common disease that is associated with pathological changes in the structure of the foreskin and scarring of its tissues. As a rule, with such a disease, there is no way to get the glans penis out of the foreskin. It should be noted immediately that this condition requires treatment, as it is fraught with unpleasant, and sometimes dangerous consequences for health.

Cicatricial phimosis and its causes

This violation can occur for various reasons. For example, cicatricial phimosis in children can be a congenital pathology. In addition, fusion of the foreskin can be caused by inflammation and some infectious diseases. In particular, the cause can be balanitis or balanoposthitis. After all, as a result of inflammation, the skin surrounding the head gradually loses its elasticity. Thus, there is a proliferation of scar tissue.

In the absence of treatment, paraphimosis can develop, a disease in which the fused tissues of the prepuce are squeezed into the head of the penis. In addition, the remains constantly accumulate under the skin of urine, smegma and seminal fluid, which creates excellent conditions for the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms. That's why with such a disease you need to immediately consult a urologist.

Cicatricial phimosis: major symptoms

Congenital narrowing of the prepuce doctors, usually found immediately after the birth of the baby. In a more mature age, you can notice some symptoms yourself. First, the hole between the outer sheets of the foreskin narrows. Sometimes areas of scarring are also noticeable. The head of the penis is almost impossible to remove.

In case of inflammation, the diameter of the opening narrows even more. During the period of illness, you can notice a strong puffiness of the foreskin. It should be noted that cicatricial phimosis makes it impossible for the normal hygiene of the male genital organs. Because of this, patients are more prone to diseases of genital organs of bacterial origin.

Quite often, the fusion of the foreskin is accompanied by problems with erection and sexual relations. In turn, the inability to perform sexual intercourse affects the emotional state and psyche of a man. Therefore, a visit to a doctor is not worth it.

Cicatricial phimosis: treatment

To begin with, it should be noted that in no case should you try to force to remove the head from under the foreskin, as this can lead to complications. After the examination, the doctor will be able to make an accurate diagnosis.

Although recently in some clinics they are trying to treat cicatricial phimosis with medicamentous treatment, there is no noticeable effect. To date, there is only one method of treatment - surgical intervention.

The most effective and popular technique is circumcision, or circumcision. The procedure is quite simple and is carried out on an outpatient basis. Using a scalpel, the doctor dissects the foreskin. By the way, the same procedure is mandatory in some countries and religious communities. An operation is performed under local anesthesia and does not require hospitalization - the patient can immediately go home.

The second method is the plasticity of the foreskin. This operation allows to release the head, but leave the surrounding tissue.
