The monastery was closed in the early 1920s, and therefore Vera and several other sisters from the monastery rented a house in the city, continuing to lead a monastic life, earning with needlework. In 1938, she was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet activities and sentenced to death. In February of the same year, she was shot. By the face of the saints, she was ranked in 2001, and the namesakes of the Faith, named in her honor, began to be celebrated on the day of her death - on February 26.

The Martyr Vera (Samsonova)

Vera Samsonova was born in 1880 in one of the villages of Tambov province. She graduated from the women's school, then worked as a teacher, while visiting the temple. At the end of 1920 she was elected a church elder, who remained in Kasimov at the place of the monastery. Arrested Faith in 1935, sentencing for counter-revolutionary activity to five years of correctional labor in the camps. Not surviving until the liberation of two weeks, Vera died in 1940 in the White Sea-Baltic camp. It was glorified in 2000. The names of the faith, bearing their name in her honor, are celebrated on the day of her death - June 14.

Martyr Vera of Rome

A holy martyr from Rome named Vera is one of Sophia's daughters who were tortured in front of her mother for the confession of Christianity in the II century under Emperor Hadrian. At that time, Vera was only 12 years old. Together with her, her two sisters, Hope and Love, were killed. And three days later, from the tribulation on the grave of her daughters, Sofia herself died. Their common memory is celebrated on September 30.

Practically nothing is known about the life of this saint. Tradition was preserved only by the very fact of her life and martyrdom for the confession of faith in Christ. Memorial Day - October 14.

The Monk Vera (Grafova)

A woman was born in 1878 in the village of Moscow province. In 1903 she became a novice in one of the Kolomna monasteries. Before the closure of the monastery in 1918, she left it. She lived in Kolomna, earned by sewing. In 1931, she was sentenced to five years of exile on charges of anti-Soviet activities. But a year later she died, being in the territory of Kazakhstan. Name days are celebrated on December 15.

Martyr Vera (Truks)

A woman was born in 1886 near Chernigov. She worked as a teacher in a rural school. Since 1923, the obedience of the cell-attendant was with Archbishop Thaddeus. When he was arrested in 1937, Vera was also charged with counter-revolutionary activities. In 1938 she was sentenced to five years of correctional labor. Vera died in 1942 in Siberia, not surviving until the end of the period of several months. Glorified in 2000 by the Jubilee Cathedral of the bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church. The day of the angel is December 31.
