Brickwork with own hands

The main thing in building a brick house is, of course, the quality of the brickwork. It is worth noting that only the experienced masons can really perform the masonry, but in the realities of our country, the costs of hiring professional builders are often unbearable for a common man. As you know, the skills of Russian men are legendary, so brickwork with their own hands is not an option that should be rejected first. Especially when it comes to small and not too responsible buildings. Beginning self-taught masons should start with small brickwork with their own hands, for example, a shed, conceals in itself a much smaller danger than an incorrectly erected dwelling house. Immediately note that brickwork with their own hands requires at least theoretical knowledge in the construction industry, which we will try to convey in this article.

To begin with, consider the tool required for brick building. The mortar is laid out using a trowel (trowel), to use the bricks of the desired shape, a broom and hammer-pick are used, level, plumb line, ruler and rule are used to control the correctness of the laying and evenness of the wall.

Great importance, in such a case as brickwork with their own hands has a solution. The composition of the solution may vary depending on the area where the construction is carried out, but the main factor should be taken into account - all components of the solution, in particular cement, must be of high quality. At once we will note, the correctly executed bricklaying of the material reduces to a minimum.

There are three basic ways to build a brickwork. This masonry back-to-back, masonry back-to-back with a pruning and masonry vprizhym. Each of the methods is applied depending on different conditions, including the ambient temperature, the type of solution used, the height of the wall and its functional purpose, the state of the brick, etc.

Let's try to understand each type of masonry in some detail.

Clutch end-to-end is used in the event that the solution is characterized by mobility and plasticity, but there is no need to completely fill the seams. In this version of the brick laying lay on a bed prepared from a sparse mortar, then tightly pressed. After the brick is moved, the mortar that is left more at the edge of the wall is able to fill the space formed by the vertical seam, after which the brick is again pressed tightly.

In the event that the solution used is characterized by stiffness and pincushion and spoon bricks are used, a clutch shall be chosen in the clamp. This type of masonry involves preparing a bed for 3 tablespoons or 5 bouncer bricks. To press bricks use a trowel. The right amount of solution to lie down from the edge of the wall, retreating 10-15cm. This type of masonry is the heaviest and requires certain skills to work with a solution of high rigidity.

Clamp trimmed with a trim is considered something average between the two ways that were described above. Bricks lie one against the other end-to-end, but the solution is, in this case, similar to the mortar used for laying in the plastic.

In any method of laying, one should not forget about the seaming of joints after several rows have been laid. This procedure, produced with the help of an embossing, makes the seam denser, and also allows it to give it a different appearance.

During the laying of bricks, it is necessary to use a number of methods that make the masonry more durable. One of these methods is the dressing of seams, which makes the wall more monolithic. The dressing of the seams involves following a certain order of the arrangement of the bricks when laying. Be sure to accompany the dressing of the brickwork of the corners. There are several ways of dressing, which can be combined in one wall.

As you can see, brickwork has many nuances, so the best solution is to entrust it to professionals, or at least involve an experienced bricklayer who will prompt the correct direction of actions and prevent mistakes.
