Bluffing is harm or good?

Exaggeration of their capabilities or merits is highly condemned in society. This speaks first of all of the craftiness and insincerity of a man who says so. Is the bluffing person bad, or is bluffing for good?

Bluffing player

The original interpretation of the word says that bluffing is a deliberately false exaggeration of one's abilities, abilities or merits. That is, if you look more closely, it turns out that the absolute synonyms for the term "bluff" are the words "lie," "deceive."

However, in card games, for example in poker, bluffing is a perfectly acceptable technique, which is used by players at risk for the sake of winning. That is, they obviously exaggerate their capabilities and the strength of the cards they have in their hands. Why are they doing that? The answer is very simple: other players, believing in the bluff, cunning of this player, may be afraid to continue playing with him and raise the stakes. Accordingly, they will save and the win will be given to the player who deceived them.

However, a bluff in poker does not mean an obligatory victory. The company may not pay attention to the exaggeration or simply do not believe in it. In this case, the players continue the game, and the person speaking about the perfect layout of the cards will lose without options. That is, it turns out that the admissible bluff in this game is, by and large, the same risk. After all, to know in advance whether or not the rest of the players will be believed bluffing is unrealistic.

This tactic is used in addition to poker and other card games, such as preference. Here it is also directly related to risk.

Bluffing in everyday life is good or bad

The fact that the exaggeration of their abilities is normally perceived during a card game is understandable - for that it is a game. But in everyday life everything is much more complicated. A constantly bluffing sooner or later will create a reputation for himself as a liar and a person with whom almost no one will want to deal. No matter how much someone wants to tell others about the villa in Hawaii or the black belt in karate, sooner or later the deception will come out. Someday, either you'll talk out yourself, or someone from the "well-wishers" will tell others that your villa in Hawaii is just a dacha, and quite far from the city.

It's the same with achievements in martial art. Life is multifaceted and unpredictable. It is likely that there will be a situation during which you will have to demonstrate your special ability to tame the enemy, and at that time you absolutely can not do anything, because the black belt in karate is just the fruit of your imagination. Here is a bluff - a word that sounds pretty pathetic by itself, can essentially ruin your life. It is unlikely that people who sincerely believe in your stories will continue to communicate with you after the disclosure of deception.

Lies for the Good

In emergency situations, when, as they say, all means are good, bluffing can be useful. Take, for example, tourists traveling in snowy mountains. The weather is a whimsical lady, and suddenly a storm has caused everyone to go astray. If together there are not experienced tourists, but beginners, it is only natural that panic can begin. But this is absolutely undesirable in such a critical situation, when you need a sober view of things. In this case, if someone from those present who more or less keeps himself in the hands, exaggerates the information and says that he knows where the path goes and how one can get out of the way, a little worried companions, instead of starting to panic, will help To define landmarks or to prepare a place for a lodging for the night. In a specific example, bluffing is the only way to take control of the situation and find a saving way out.

Bluff to reduce suffering

Another model of the situation in which bluff can be justified is an exaggeration of the possibility of recovery for deadly sick relatives. That is why, placing an incompatible diagnosis with life, doctors often report it not to patients, but to relatives. Unfortunately, if the patient knows that his days are numbered, he, as a rule, will burn in a matter of days. The same patients who were bluffed by the belief that with the help of high-quality medical products they will soon be on the mend, can live for quite a long time and leave the life quietly, without unnecessary suffering and emotions.
