Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater: about the theater, repertoire, troupe, address

The Belarusian State Academic Music Theater was opened more than 40 years ago. Today in his repertoire there is a rich variety of genres, there are even performances for children.

About the theater

The Belarusian State Academic Music Theater was opened in 1970. His first performance was the work "The Lark Sings". The premiere took place in January 1971. Initially, the theater was called the musical comedy of Belarus.

In 1981, for him was built his own building, in which he "lives" to this day.

For more than forty years of its existence, the theater has produced over a hundred productions of different musical genres. Many of them are already considered a gold fund.

At the end of the 20th century, the repertoire of the theater expanded considerably. In addition to musical comedies of the Soviet period, ballets and classical operettas, it included performances of contemporary fashion genres, such as, for example, musicals, as well as concerts. In this regard, the state has expanded.

The Belarusian State Academic Music Theater today is, above all, professional artists, among which there are both masters of theatrical art and talented young cadres. The troupe is able to successfully solve even the most complex tasks of a creative nature. Many artists have titles and are laureates of prizes, competitions and festivals.

Today the theater is among the most popular not only in the city, but in all of Belarus. He has a very high reputation. Over a year, this Temple of Art is visited by more than 250 thousand spectators. In addition to the performances, the theater implements a number of different projects. Artists take part in events of city, regional and republican significance. Orphans, large families, veterans, disabled people, elderly people are given the opportunity to attend performances and concert programs on a preferential or even free basis.

One of the most significant and high-profile events was the premiere of the musical "Sophia Golshanskaya." This production immediately became a favorite with the audience. With her, the theater went on tour in many cities of Belarus, as well as Russia. The premiere of the musical took place in the open air. It happened at the walls of the Golshansky castle, which belonged to the family of the magnates Sapegov, where the main heroine of the play lived. The performance was highly appreciated by viewers and critics.

In 2000 the theater was awarded the title of "Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus". And 9 years after this event, he began to be called academic. In the same year, his name was renamed. Now it is the Belarusian State Academic Music Theater. The ticket office operates from 9:00 in the morning until 20:00 in the evening. It is located in the theater building. But tickets can be purchased not only at the ticket office, but also through the official website of the theater. Children under 3 years can enter the hall for free.

The Music Theater organizes a contest every year, which takes place among playwrights, composers, directors. Its purpose is to create unique, original performances that will enter the repertoire.

Since 2010, the theater has been actively touring. The troupe travels to different cities of Belarus, CIS countries and often happens abroad.
