Basic ideas of Christianity. Political and economic ideas of Christianity

Christianity is one of the three world religions. It exists firmly in the context of European and, in general, all Western culture. Many people consider themselves believers. But do they know the basic ideas of Christianity, or simply display thoughtless pseudo-religious feelings?

Popular misconceptions

A lot of religious principles are understood and interpreted inaccurately. What are the basic ideas of Christianity? Is it the duty to carry a cross? Almost a third of believers do not. Maybe these are icons? But in the Holy Scripture nothing is said about them, but Jesus Christ Himself commanded not to worship man-made material things.

Perhaps the main ideas of Christianity are posts? And again not, although fasting is even useful for health. Faith is not an obligatory knowledge of all nuances and wisdoms, memorizing of church parables and holidays, rituals and rituals. It is necessary to clearly understand that these are all formalities. And often they appeared later than the birth of Jesus and his death.

The ideological message of religious teaching

As a religion, Christianity is based on several assumptions. The first is the idea of sinfulness of the whole human race, which is infected with the original sin of Eve and Adam. The basic ideas of Christianity contain the idea of the need for every salvation, as well as the redemption of all mankind before Heavenly Father. On this path, according to the preachers of this faith, people stood up due to the voluntary self-sacrifice and suffering of Jesus Christ, who was the Son of God and the messenger, uniting in himself both human and divine nature.

The Doctrine of the Spirit

Monotheism and spiritualistic concepts, deepened by the doctrine of the trinity of Persons in a single God, are the basic ideas of Christianity summarized in this article.

By and large, this idea goes through the whole Bible and is its foundation. Monotheism gave rise to the deepest philosophical and religious concepts, revealing new facets of its content over time.

The basic ideas of Christianity also affirm the triumph of the absolute and perfect Spirit - the Creator God, which is not only the Almighty Reason, but also Love and Goodness. The spiritual principle is predominant over inert matter. God is the unconditional Creator and Master of matter, who gave man dominion over the world. Thus, Christianity, being dualistic in its metaphysics (since it assumes the existence of two substances - matter and spirit), is absolutely monistic, since it puts matter in dependence on the spirit, believing it to be only a product of spiritual activity.

The Teaching of Man

Although the basic ideas of Christianity are briefly stated, since this religion is indeed multifaceted, it can be said with certainty that it is oriented toward man. It is the individual, the immortal and spiritual being, created by the Creator in the image and likeness of His - the highest and absolute value.

Not only spiritual, but also economic ideas of early Christianity asserted the equality of people among themselves and in God's eyes. All people are beloved by the Lord in equal measure, since all people are His children. The main ideas of Christianity are to recognize the destiny of all mankind for eternal bliss and union with God, combined with such divine gifts as God's grace and free will (as ways to achieve the state of bliss).

The main commandments

The main ideas of Christianity are called precepts, according to legend, are given by Jesus himself. What it is? These are calls to love the Lord with "all your soul and mind", and also "love your neighbor" as yourself. The ideas of early Christianity were completely based only on these sayings, but then mankind made things much more complicated.

The first commandment says that any adequate person is obliged to love the Lord God so much that he does not worry for his future and trust Him as much as possible. And also to do all the deeds in His name, and not for your own gain and self-interest. To understand the meaning of commandment number one is necessary both with a logical mind and with faith. And this is very difficult for modern man.

The second commandment proceeds from the premise that man must already love himself with all his soul and "understanding" (that is, mind). Accordingly, many modern problems go away on their own. A person who loves himself will not work on hateful work, communicate with bad and evil people, lie, destroy himself and his body. The second part of the second commandment says that one must love his neighbor. But who is this? Obviously, this is not only a friend or relative, but in general all people on earth.

God is love

The basic ideas of Christianity lead to the ideal of man in the understanding of this religion - an individual who will have unconditional love and trust in people, toward himself, to God. The Lord hears everyone who turns to Him with prayer and faith. He is Love, and not only a formidable and omnipotent force. The task of any believer is to love Him, to reciprocate. The prohibitions of the Ten Commandments of Moses are supplemented with the so-called "blissful commandments", aimed at healing the human soul, and not in social life.
