Attractions Psebaya. Hiking. Krasnodar region

Find places where there are still untrodden trails, crystal clear rivers, clear and delightful air - this means finding the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, and not just put a tent on a designated area for this forest.

Sights Psebaya year from year become more popular. This is due to the fact that the large business has not yet come here and has not spoiled everything. There are no multi-storey, sleek hotels, asphalt paths in the forest and numerous cafes and restaurants that filled the local air with the aromas of their kitchens. And it's good that there are no changes at all, or they are insignificant.

History of the village

If Italians have all the roads from ancient times to Rome, then the village of Psebay (Krasnodar Territory), on the contrary, is the starting point for a different level of difficulty of walking routes to numerous local attractions.

At first, the military settled in these parts, who laid the fortifications along the cordon with the neighboring villages of the mountaineers. They also built the first houses, church and roads. It was in 1857, but only since 1862, we can assume that the village became habitable. It was during this period that the families of Cossacks and soldiers moved here, which was the beginning of the formation of the village.

For improvement near the village even dug a small river Psebayka. She was supposed to protect local women from the encroachments of the mountaineers who abducted them while they caressed the linen in the Malaya Laba River.

The development of the village was very slow, until in 1888 these places were not chosen for hunting by the royal family. Cousin Nicholas 2, Sergei Mikhailovich Romanov, for example, rented most of the land and even ordered to build a hunting lodge with housing for huntsmen and kennels.

Today, since that time, only the church and the hunting lodge, which later became a monument of the cultural heritage of the region, have been preserved as Psebei's sights.

Hiking

Located in the south of the Krasnodar Territory, in the valley of the Malaya Laba River, this village occupies 12 km of its left bank. Right behind him begins the picturesque Gerpegem Ridge, leaving it in a smooth semicircle. Located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, Psebay (Krasnodar Territory) became famous already in Soviet times. Since at that time much attention was paid to the development of tourism and work with young people, the choice fell on the poorly studied terrain.

It was from here that the pedestrian route to Krasnaya Polyana began, passing through the Caucasian Reserve, which received the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, tourism was for a long time forgotten, and local tourist centers began to move from one source to another. Only by 2000 the old route lasted 5-7 days, and new ones were developed.

This is due to the fact that pedestrian tourism has gained popularity, in addition, this area is good for hang gliding, rafting, jumping, for motorcycle and bike trips.

Today there are routes to Kyzyl-bek, Nikitinsky and Kapustinsky waterfalls, to numerous caves, ascent along the ridges of Mifargut (1249 m) and Herpegem (1211 m).

The caves in Psebaia district

Sights Psebaya expect guests year-round, the benefit here is 180 days of sunshine a year, and in winter the temperature rarely falls below -8 degrees. Since the whole area is mountainous, caves are often found here, some of which are included in excursion routes in the vicinity.

Gunkina caves are the largest and most famous. They are located in the eponymous beam, one of them, the largest and therefore most frequently visited, flows the river. In general, all four caves of the gully seem to stand in line one after another.

In the largest cave there are 3 halls that connect a low and narrow corridor. The first hall is smaller than the rest, only 45 m in length, 20 m in width and 3 m in height. The second one is 55 m long, 42 m wide and up to 10 m up, and the third, the largest, is 80 m long and 12 to 25 m wide at a height of 10 meters.

Total length of the Gunkin caves is about 1 km. In the period of high water, many of them are simply inaccessible.

Waterfalls

No less popular is the walking route to the local waterfalls. There are several of them, and this is not surprising, because in translation from the ancient Türkic language Psebai is translated as "a place where there is a lot of water". The most famous and accessible are the Kapustinsky and Nikitinsky waterfalls.

Nikitinsky located near the village of the same name. It is located on 2 terraces above the flood plain of the right bank of the Little Lab. The upper and lower part of the village is shared by the river Nikitinka, and on its left bank is the smaller part of the village.

In the 21st century such places are surprising. There is no light, no mobile communication, no gas, no running water, but this gives it a special charm when you realize that many of the usual things do not work here, and local residents have a completely different value assessment.

Nikitinsky waterfall consists of two - the Small and the Big. The first has a height of 15 m, the second has 35 m, they are both very picturesque and majestic. The noise that they create is heard from afar.

Malaya Laba River

This river most of its way shows "holes". Up to the valley, where she runs into the Great Lab, she rumbles on the ruts and shows her turbulent character, which many times have experienced on rafting enthusiasts. It is fed by glaciers, so the water in it is clean and cold. The coasts, most of the way steep and steep, become more flat and covered with vegetation just outside Psebaya, when it reaches the valley.

Near it it is cool even on the hottest days, and in the floods it becomes dangerous because of spills with such a rapid current.

Tourists and fishermen know this river and its tributaries well, lovers of outdoor recreation come here every year. Fishing here requires patience and dexterity, and among the most popular inhabitants there are trout and chub.

Thermal sources

The benefits of thermal springs were learned by people in ancient times, today it is scientifically proven which composition affects which diseases. Mineral and thermal springs near the village of Psebai are in constant demand all year round.

You can place it both in the sanatorium, in the territory of which there are swimming pools, and in the village, from which transport delivers guests to the place. The water temperature reaches + 80-90 degrees, whereas in bathing pools it is invariably equal + 37-42.

In the water: lithium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, fluorine, calcium, bromine, sulfates and hydrogen carbonates, mineral salts. They are suitable for people with problems of the musculoskeletal system, respiratory system, with nervous exhaustion and stress.

Here, even in bad weather people bathe, and the healing effect of the sources lasts long enough.

Extreme tourism

Pedestrian tourism is not the only one that attracts tourists to these regions, although it is the most popular. Annually from the village of Psebay there are groups for rafting along the Malaya Laba River. Travel agencies offer special programs that are more suitable for beginners under the supervision of experienced rafters. Usually rafting is held in May, when the river is most full. There are no dangerous rapids here, but Mala Laba will make her nervous, because the current is swift.

No less love is enjoyed by the edge of hang gliders. There are rarely strong winds, so the view of the surrounding beauty from a bird's eye view is more like a pleasant walk than an extreme.

But jumping will delight fans of this type of entertainment. Indeed, where there are no roads, and the surrounding mountains with their slopes - all this is a "tidbit" for the extreme.

Where in Psebay to stay

The closest boarding house to the village is the "Birches" with its famous thermal springs. The rest of the hostels are located near Nikitino, not far from the village. Here guests are expected all year round:

  • Recreation center "Verity";
  • Shelter for tourists "Silver";
  • Guest house «Courchevel»;
  • House «In Nikitino».

These places are in constant demand, because they are located in the mountains, from where you can see stunning views of the river, coniferous forest and cliffs. Near the tourist shelter is a source rich in silver, the water from which the guests take from all the tourist centers.

These are the sights Psebaya expects guests all year round. There is everything to restore strength after the city's fuss, gain impressions and improve health.
