Arms race

The "arms race" is, perhaps, one of the most used terms in the political science of the present and the last century. This phenomenon has now become an independent factor of modern civilization.

The most vivid race of this kind manifested itself immediately after the end of the Second World War, when two superpowers emerged, the US and the USSR, who divided the world into spheres of influence and sought to further expand their own power. In 1946, Churchill in Fulton accused the USSR of expansion and an attack on the countries of the free world, which served as a kind of the beginning of the Cold War. The build-up of the military power of both sides began, which affected the entire international economy. The process is not stopped even today.

Why is the arms race still the topic of the day? This concept denotes the opposition of the two sides in the issue of the primacy of the armed forces. With such confrontation of each side, huge stocks of weapons and military equipment are produced in order to establish parity with the enemy or overtake him.

Mankind has long learned the rule that in order to live in peace, you need to have a weapon in case you have to defend it. Historically, the process is objective in the development of mankind. Strengthening military power symbolizes the acquisition of people's competitive opportunities. Therefore, we should not believe that it is possible to end the arms race in the next few centuries.

War - is not always accompanied by open military actions. Almost all states of the world are at war today for their survival and role in this world. Objectively, the United States continues to be the aggressor and executor of all armed conflicts, using openly the means of armed struggle and the newest operational means in their struggle for their own influence. Their goal is American-centric globalism and the seizure of the world's "infrastructure."

For America at the present stage, the arms race is a means of waging war against the rest of the world. Earlier, in the last century, the effectiveness of such a strategy was proved in the process of competition in the forces with the USSR, which came out of it already destroyed. Such technology allows to achieve strategic superiority in military forces over the enemy and to wear it out with the aim of changing the status quo.

The arms race can be passive (develop at a natural pace together in technological progress), active (to be organized specifically) and aggressive (to be an element of the strategy of military expansion).

The US has seriously discredited itself as a world leader, so the only way to stay afloat for them is to build up military power. They moved to total militarization of their own system and destabilization of international relations, imposing their "survival model" under the slogans of ensuring security for the "democratic world".

America is afraid of strong competitors in the world arena, which first sees Russia and China. The US is constantly strengthening its forces, preparing for a war with potential candidates for power in the world. More and more money is invested in the US military-industrial complex. The memory of the cold war is still alive, so today's arms race is very similar to what has been traveled - America is on a rolled track.

The US national defense frontier on the ground passes through the territories of European states, which are already considered a "strategic American reserve in Europe" (Czech Republic, Poland, the Baltic countries, Moldova and so on) and the near abroad of Russia (Georgia, Ukraine). The US seeks to move the lines of national defense as far as possible from American borders and closer to the borders of the potential enemy.
