Aristocratic dicentra: cultivation and care

The dicenter is a representative of the family of smoky and is a herbaceous plant that came to us from East Asia in the early nineteenth century. Now there are about 20 of its varieties. Dicentra, cultivation and care of which is carried out not only by many professionals, but also by amateurs, is found in various variations on flower beds, curbs and flower beds. The height of the bush, depending on the type of plant, reaches one meter, even though the root system goes far enough. Thanks to the green leaves of the pinnate form, even after the end of flowering, the dicentre does not lose its elegance and attractiveness. Flowers on the bushes have a variety of shades, from dazzling white to rich pink. Very interesting is their shape, which resembles a split small heart. The flowering period of the plant is on the average 40 days. On the bases of the petals there are cavities filled with nectar, and small boxes, inside which the seeds are located, are the fruits of the garden flowers of the dicenter. Cultivation and care of the plant begins with the choice of a place for planting.

Cultivation centers

The plant is not considered too capricious about the conditions of cultivation and location, but for planting it is better to give preference to a well-lit area. As for the soil, the plant likes fertile and light soils, the moderate moisture content of which is the most basic requirement for flowers such as a dicenter. Cultivation and care begins in autumn with the preparation of the chosen place, which must be slightly supplemented with mineral fertilizers. The plant has a large-sized root system, and therefore the pits for its planting should have a diameter of at least half a meter. Landing is carried out only after the hole is filled with water and will stand a few weeks. Cultivation centers can be started both in autumn and in spring. In the first case, the entire preparatory process described begins in September, and in the second case, the flowers are planted in the wells that have overwintered in this form.

Care and disease control

As for a plant such as a dicenter, growing and caring for it is not a complicated process. In this regard, timely watering, weeding from weeds, loosening, and also treatment against pests is necessary. During the occurrence of frost, it is desirable to cover the garden flowers, for which a lightweight nonwoven fabric is suitable. In hot periods, you can add a little humus to the soil, and mineral fertilizing is carried out during the growing season. After the ground part turns yellow in autumn, it is cut off. There is no need for any special shelter. In the form of five-centimeter hemp, the dicenter remains to be wintered. The magnificent flowerbed, in turn, can grow as a result of the multiplication of the flower by seeds, by cutting or dividing the bush. These garden flowers are quite resistant to the appearance of possible diseases. However, in order to prevent them, it is desirable not to allow a thickening of the landing. Plus, do not forget about the timely removal of weeds. The soil under the bushes can be treated with a formalin 5% solution, and the plants themselves - the means that are designed to combat cicadas and aphids.
