Not everyone knows that on the summer route number 259 (during the rest of the year this flight is canceled) it is very convenient to get to the beach "Seagull". The above-mentioned territory is located in the resort area of the western part of South Palmyra. However, to argue that Arkady (Odessa) - the beach, it would not be quite right. In general, this is a small microdistrict, which includes both the attributes of a prosperous Black Sea resort and the characteristic features of the sleeping quarter of a large city. The transport interchange here is very convenient. There is a trolleybus No.13 to the shore. Also there you can get on the tram of the fifth route or on city buses №№ 195, 168 and 198.

On the special health path from the beach "Langeron" to "Arcadia" is an electric car. However, many prefer to walk along the sea on foot.

At any time of the day, you can get there by taxi. True, it is not cheap.

At the end of the XIX century on the site of the future Arcadia was a rocky beach, absolutely unsuitable for rest. The founders of the city chose this place for the resort, because to the majority of Odessa beaches there are cliffs and steep slopes, and here you can get to the coastal zone by a natural gentle slope.

The first discoverer of Arcadia is the Belgian Emil Cambier, who also built the first restaurant in that place. Then the name itself appeared - "Arcadia". The inhabitants of Odesa named this area in honor of one area in Greece, where, according to the Greeks, the world reigned, idyll, happiness, peace and simplicity of morals.

Gradually, bathhouses began to open there, small beerhouses, large new restaurants and all kinds of entertainment places were built.

In 1910, through the reconstructed French Boulevard in Arcadia, the first electric tram started.

Gradually, the beach "Arcadia", prices that "bite" to this day, began to build up nightclubs and new summer areas. From year to year the recreation area grows, flourishes and continues to be popular both among residents of the city and its guests.

Section 5. Arcadia Today

In 2014, the beach "Arcadia" in Odessa (the photo serves as an indisputable proof) was given a new look. There was a complete reconstruction of the central alley. May 21 was her grand opening. Many vacationers really like the resort area of Arcadia. Despite its turbulent life, the area itself is considered quite quiet and cozy. Visitors like to stop there, because everything is close: the sea, beach zones, and various entertainment establishments.

One big drawback in Arcadia is the highest prices in the city. There are not so many free recreation zones, and the cost of visiting at least an element of a highly enriched place is 25-30 hryvnia (approximately 88-105 Russian rubles). But this is by no means the limit: for a tent or a tent on the shore, you can sometimes pay 500 hryvnia (or 1750 rubles.) Per day. The price depends on the size and quality of the construction, and on the season.

Another inconvenience is the unfinished reconstruction of the alley leading to the sea. Most of the pavilions are not yet equipped, and now they hide the awnings. Along the avenue there are no shops yet, and near the central pool the tiles are still not properly laid, which causes some negative impressions among the people who are breathing.

Also, many are indignant that on the route of the 5th tram can now not get to Arcadia, as it was before. But these are temporary inconveniences, which are connected with the reconstruction of the territory.
