But this did not stop the athlete from graduating from the professional lyceum as an electrician, and then to get a higher education. Alexey is a graduate of the Surgut State University.

Alexey Volkov's wife is a biathlete, a master of sports, a silver medalist in Europe. Before the wedding young people met for several years, the ceremony of marriage took place in April 2014 in Khanty-Mansiysk during the Russian championship. In October 2015, Alexei and Evgenia had a daughter. The athlete says that children are a great joy in life, for a long time to leave for training camps and competitions are now much harder.

Skiing - the hobby of childhood

The athlete remembers that they ran crosses in the park, and he wanted to ski. Three weeks later, he was bored, so he stopped visiting the biathlon section. A year later, Sasha's younger brother went to biathlon school, his coach invited to the team gathers the best skiers, among whom was Alexei Volkov.

The biathlete says that at that time the departure from Raduzhny was a huge event. The coach promised to take Alexey for training, provided that he does not miss a single training for a year. At that time, the young athlete did not even think about the Olympics. I just understood: it will be good to train - it will be able to go to the training camp.

First fees

The first gathering in 2003 in Kazakhstan Alexei Volkov (biathlonist) remembers well. He remembers that at that time it was difficult with the equipment, and it all boiled down to a hat and gloves. In parallel, the athlete was engaged in polyatlon - a skiing for a ten-kilometer distance, pneumatic shooting standing with 10 m and pull-up. Therefore, the athlete fired well.

Alexei persuaded the coach to take him to the camps in Khanty-Mansiysk, because by age he no longer went to the group. The sportsman went to the gathering at his own expense. Then he took first place at the Championship, which surprised everyone, as it was his first competition. So Alex was in the national team of the biathlon.

Rapid success

Alexei Volkov enters the junior team in April 2009 and becomes a real find of the national championship - ahead of all participants in the number of medals. In addition, he wins the prize of the governor of the Tyumen region - a car - and becomes the youngest owner of such a prize. In December of the same year in Sweden, the athlete participates in the World Cup.

Alexei is characterized by an unchanging desire for victory. The European Championship 2010 brought the athlete medals in four disciplines. In February 2011, participating in the European Championship brings him silver in the sprint and gold in the pursuit race. In December of the same year, Aleksey Anatolyevich Volkov takes part in the race and wins in competitions. Sports career of biathlete is rapidly rising:

• In 2012, Alexey wins an individual race and pursuit race in Uvat, takes second place in the mass start, in the relay race team becomes the six-time champion of the country.
