History

The whole of the previous fleet of Katekavia was transferred to Turukhan. The first own aircraft, the Boeing 757-200, was also received by Azur Air in 2014. The same year, on December 17, the first flight to Sharm El-Sheikh airport was completed.

During 2015, the fleet was increased to 14 aircraft. Until 2015, Azur Air was a subsidiary of the domestic air carrier UTair. But in March of the same year, the latter fully sells the shares of Katekavia, and the company becomes independent. Last fall, the name of the legal entity was renamed and the existing operator's certificate was replaced.

Since February 2016, Azur Air has been granted permission from the Federal Agency Rosaviatsia for regular flights on international routes.

Aircraft accidents

The only accidents in the history of the company's existence occurred on February 26, 2016. A Boeing-767 aircraft carrying out the Moscow-Phuket flight from the capital's Domodedovo airport made an emergency landing at the Tashkent airfield. According to the preliminary version, the cause could be the activation of the engine oil level sensor.

The airline operates American Boeing aircraft of two modifications - 767-300 and 757-200. The average period of their operation is no more than 18 years.

"Boeing-757-200" is a medium-haul passenger airliner. In the fleet, he is present in the number of 9 units. The oldest of them (22 years old) has the onboard VQBKF number. The youngest aircraft (age 13 years) has the onboard VQBEY number. All aircraft of this type in the cabin have 238 passenger seats of economy class service.

"Boeing-767-300" is a long-distance passenger airliner. Present in the fleet of the company in an amount of 5 units. The oldest plane is 20 years old (VQBUO number). The youngest airliner is 17 years old (VQBUP number). The aircraft cabin of this modification is designed to carry 336 passengers when assembling with one service class.
