According to forecasts, for 20 years solar activity will decrease by 60%, which will lead to a decrease in temperature

Our topic today does not affect the problem of anthropogenic impact on climate change. We will talk about the activity of the sun and how solar cycles affect the state of the environment. The last study of astronomers is based on mathematical calculations. It shows that in the period between the twenties and thirties of this century the solar cycles will be able to neutralize each other.

Preconditions for the onset of a new ice age

More recently NASA scientists have published a study reflecting the gradual increase in the mass of ice in Antarctica. These data contradict what we have been accustomed to hearing in recent years. Despite the fact that the average temperature of the air and the world ocean on the planet is constantly growing, and the ice of the Antarctic is gradually reducing its volume, a diametrically opposite picture is formed at the South Pole.

NASA's research involved satellites of the newest generation that detailed the height of the ice sheet in the region, as well as the terrain. And if before we did not know what is really going on with the glaciers of the South Pole, then now important information has reached us. The reason for the growth of glacial blocks and the expansion of the continent is not exactly defined. Only hypotheses are put forward on this score. However, the fact remains that the spread of the ice of Antarctica several years ago reached its record high level.

Human exposure

When we talk about climate change, much attention is paid to human activities. Indeed, in this aspect we have to solve a lot of urgent problems. However, due to climate change, almost no attention is paid to solar activity. But these are two diametrically opposite spheres of influence. On the one hand, this is a completely thoughtless activity of man, which slowly but surely leads us to an ecological catastrophe. On the other hand, more powerful influence from the outside. But science has long been aware of fluctuations in the cycle of solar activity.

A new model of solar activity

But if the South Pole is far away, and the growth rates of glaciers do not threaten global cataclysms in the next century, the problem considered by the professor of mathematics Valentina Zharkova seems much more frightening. Now solar activity can be calculated with an accuracy of 97 percent. Thanks to the model presented at the National Assembly of Astronomers in Wales, which accurately predicts the behavior of solar cycles. According to all the calculations presented, the Earth moves to the "mini-glacial period", which will come in 15 years.

We are waiting for the mini-glacial period

The two upper layers of the Sun, the photosphere and the convective zone create dynamo effects. A new model of solar activity, presented by Professor Zharkova, clearly demonstrates a violation of the 11-year cycle. In connection with this, scientists made bold predictions. By 2030, solar activity should be reduced by 60 percent. This circumstance can cause a new small ice age.

For the third decade of this century, the Sun will enter its 26th cycle. In the opposite hemispheres of our luminary two waves are formed with a mirror image. The mutual flows that have formed can neutralize each other. However, this impact will be truly devastating and will cause a powerful decrease in solar activity. Thus, we should expect a new Maunder minimum.

A bit of history

During the creation of the dynamo effect between the layers of our luminary, the number of sunspots decreases. This phenomenon has a long-term character, and was first discovered by the English astronomer Edward Maunder, while the scientist was studying the archives of observing the sun. Thus, a separate period (from 1645 to 1715) was singled out, which was called the Maunder's Minimum. Judging by the archival records, during this time the London Thames was completely covered with ice.

Curiously, the astronomer discovered about 50 sunspots, which is a thousand times less than the usual solar activity. Also this period coincided with the global cooling of the climate in the 14-19 centuries, which was called the Small Ice Age. And if so far scientists have argued about the relationship of these two phenomena, then the future decline in solar activity can put everything in its place.

Two degrees of activity of the Sun

Our luminary has two degrees of activity. When the waves are in phase, they amplify it, when the waves go beyond the phase, the solar activity decreases.

Conclusion

We must recognize that in addition to the destructive activity of man, the climate can be influenced by other, no less important factors. And if they exist, the world community must take them into account when developing environmental programs.
