Zelenin drops

Zelenin drops have an international name, which reads as follows tincture of belladonna + tincture of lily of the valley + tincture of rhizomes of valerian + menthol.

The drug belongs to the group of antispasmodics. In principle, it can be called known and in demand. Zelenin drops are a transparent liquid with a greenish or yellowish-brown color. Has a characteristic smell. It consists of 10% tincture of belladonna in a volume of 5 ml, 10% of tincture of lily of the valley 10 ml, 20% of tincture of valerian 10 ml and racemic menthol. Produced and sold in pharmacies in the form of drops.

The drug belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of combined cardiac drugs. It has an ATS C01 EX encoding. Zelenin drops are a combined herbal preparation. Sheet belladonna has m-cholinoblock, and at the same time and spasmolytic effect. Reduces the secretion of the pancreas, sweat glands, as well as lacrimal, salivary, bronchial and gastric glands. Helps reduce muscle tone of the bile duct, gall bladder, gastrointestinal tract, improve AV conduction, can cause tachycardia. The action of the drug leads to pupil dilatation, increased intraocular pressure, problems with the outflow of intraocular fluid, it can cause paralysis of accommodation. It is known that tincture of a lily of the valley is capable of having a cardiotonic effect.

Tincture of rhizomes of valerian has an antispasmodic and sedative effect. It leads to a rapid onset of natural sleep. As a rule, the sedative effect is fairly stable, although it is slowly coming. The component is able to exert a choleretic effect, increase the secretion of the gastrointestinal mucosa, slow the heart rate and dilate the coronary vessels. Menthol, as a means of locally irritating effects, is able to have a venotonic, antianginal, analgesic and reflex coronary-dilation action.

Also, the drug is used for spasm of the organs and muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, hypo- and anacid gastritis, a decrease in appetite, chronic cholecystitis, renal and hepatic colic, and also with increased excitability. Zelenin drops are contraindicated in diseases such as glaucoma, cardiac disorders expressed in severe form, hypertrophy of the prostate. Also, do not use the drug with increased sensitivity to the components of drops, during pregnancy, as well as breastfeeding.

Overdose can cause dizziness and tachycardia. The person feels dryness in the mouth. His pupils are dilated. Symptoms of an overdose of this drug in most cases become noticeable very soon. Zelenin drops are administered with extreme caution to children under 12 years of age and to elderly people due to the presence of alkaloids in the atropine group. Also, the specific features of the use of this drug should include joint use with drugs of hawthorn, resulting in increased therapeutic activity. During the period of treatment, it is better not to try to drive vehicles or complex technological processes and mechanisms, since Zelenin drops, which, for the most part, do not talk about any inhibitory effect on the nervous system, still help reduce the speed of psychomotor reactions.
