Windscreen washer nozzle: variants, advantages and disadvantages
It's no secret that the visibility of the windscreen directly affects the safety of driving the car. Sometimes the driver encounters difficulties - on the surface of the frontal gets dirt, snow and gnats. Then the visibility is reduced by several times, and even one object that the driver has not seen can lead to the most unpleasant consequences. For example, at night because of a roadside there can be a pedestrian whom the motorist will notice at the very last moment. Only then do you understand how important it is to keep the glass clean. And that such incidents were as little as possible, all cars are equipped with special tools for cleaning the windshield. There are three of them: washing liquid, wipers and nozzles. The inoperability or absence of at least one of these parts precludes the possibility of cleaning the windscreen. In today's article, we would like to pay attention to the nozzles. Although they seem at first glance petty, but without their presence, the glass will always be contaminated.
At the moment there are two types of these devices:
- Ink jet nozzle washer windshield (manned on all cars 80-90 years of release).
- Fan (considered more modern and efficient).
Indeed, in recent years, the fan nozzles of the windscreen washer have become very popular. "Ford Focus" and many other cars are now being supplied with just such devices. In general, the principle of operation of this part is the same, and it has not changed over the years. Today's windshield washer nozzle, like its "ancestors", sprinkles the washing liquid over a certain part of the body with a lot of pressure.
The difference between jet and fan devices is only in the technology of spraying. If the first supplies liquid to the glass with a jet (hence the name), then the second does it in small drops throughout the frontal area. The replacement of the windshield washer injectors is almost the same as their external design.
Pros and cons of these devices
The fan part, unlike the ink jet, sprays the liquid more evenly over the glass surface. The latter option directs the device only to a small frontal area, and only then the wipers spread it over the surface. The windshield wiper then produces an unpleasant creaking sound, while the fan analogs evenly process the glass, and the wipers quietly clean it to shine in a matter of seconds. In this case, the surface is almost not scratched, since everything happens without excessive resistance and with the best slip.
