Where is the waterfall of Su-Uchkhan

Every year many tourists come to Crimea. Some of them are only interested in beaches. But active and inquisitive people fall under the charm of the nature of the peninsula and want to see as many unique places as possible. One of the most picturesque pearls of Crimea is the Su-Uchkhan waterfall. Not only excursion groups come here, but also single savages, and local residents. How to get to the waterfall and what else can you see in these places? This will be our story.

The Kizil-Koba valley

If you go on the highway Simferopol-Alushta, then in the foothills of the Dolgorukovskaya yail (as one of the mountain massifs in the main ridge of the Crimean mountains is called) one can get to the Kizil-Koba valley. This is a unique place with a special energy and microclimate. The name of the valley was given by the famous Red Cave, in translation from the Turkic language it sounds like "Kizil-Koba". Near the cave, about 20 minutes walk, there is a Tufovaya glade, on which there is a unique waterfall Su-Uchkhan.

The tract of Kizil-Koba is a real pilgrimage place for tourists. One of the largest Eastern European caves and a deep waterfall tickle the nerves and delight the eyes of visitors. This is not only for vivid impressions, but also to be charged with positive energy, which is permeated with this place.

First about the waterfall

Waterfall Su-Uchkhan (Crimea) is not very far from the village Perevalnogo. There you can walk on foot for 30 quiet steps from Krasnospechernogo. The road goes not directly to the waterfall, but a little further, to the Red Cave. But to prevent tourists from getting lost, signposts are installed on the road. And still, if you go for the first time to look at the waterfall of Su-Uchkhan, how to get there is better to check with knowledgeable people. Or, if there is such a possibility, take a guide-guide.

The waterfall is formed by the waters of the Kizilkobinka River, which pierces its way through the bowels of Dolgorukovskaya Yaila. The same river worked on the creation of the Red Cave, which will be described a little later. The height of the fall of water is 25 meters. The upper point of the waterfall is called the Tufo site. Breaking down, the water does not flow in a continuous stream, but forms a multitude of cascades, large and small whirlpools and streams of different fullness.

The supernatural power of nature

The waterfall of Su-Uchkhan is fascinating with its beauty. But sensitive people say that it's not just about beauty. The fact that this place is permeated with positive energy, we have already told. The sensation is created due to the fact that deep inside the earth the Kizilkobinka passes through the points of tectonic faults, which gives the water special properties. Many psychics and witch doctors come here to wash away the negative energy associated with their work in the waters of Su-Uchkhan.

And near the waterfall you can see the monogram of Christ. Whoever left it on the rock is not exactly known, but many pilgrims go to this place on Epiphany to dip into the natural font.

Sources and baths of youth

Slightly below the waterfall formed a small depression, constantly filled with water. Many call this place a "bath of youth." The water temperature in the natural pool does not rise above 9 ° С. However, cold water does not freeze even in frosty winters. The water in this bathtub is also in those periods when the waterfall itself has dried up or frozen, because under the natural depression there is a mountain spring.

A small beautiful grotto is visible beyond the waterfall. If desired, you can look into the stone depression. And above the waterfall, to the right of it, two sources are found. They beat from under one stone, but have water of different chemical composition. Surprisingly, the temperature in the sources is also different. In the people this miracle is called "living and dead water".

Crimean Tatar names

The Su-Uchkhan waterfall has always been popular. In the memory of the people there are many names that were given to this place. Crimean Tatars called the waterfall Sutyshkan, Subotkan, which means "floating river", "master of three waters" and "water from three lords".

A little bit about the Red Cave

As you already knew, the Red Caves, the waterfall of Su-Uchkhan, the youth baths and fabulous springs - all this is the work of the tireless Kizilkobinka. It is very difficult to tell about the Red Cave in a few words. After all, we are talking about the most visited attractions of the peninsula. This is a real underground kingdom stretching underground for more than 25 km. Fabulous labyrinths lead to magical halls. To the secret niches and grottoes are narrow passages-lazy.

The cave is studied in detail. It consists of 6 tiers, in which there are places, different in height. The walls of the cave are made of limestone, but they contain a high content of iron oxide. It was this component that gave the cave a reddish hue, which affected its name.

Since it is easy to get lost in natural twisting and branched courses, you can get inside only with an excursion. The route is short, only half a kilometer, but completely safe. Here, even lighting was done. A red cave is worth a visit, because it is simply impossible to get such bright impressions elsewhere!
