This article is of a technical nature and is intended to help car enthusiasts in repairing a car (in this case it is VAZ 2107). Let's divide the article into two parts, in which we will consistently analyze the replacement of the crankshaft front and rear crankshafts, respectively.

Any car owner should always carefully monitor the operation of his car, so at the first signs of a malfunction it is necessary to be able to quickly solve the problem. An epiploon of a crankshaft forward varies at occurrence of oil stains and streaks at work of a pulley of a cranked shaft.

To begin with, you must install the machine on the lift so that you can crank the engine, and then you need to turn on the gear and the handbrake. Further , the motor protection with the 8 mm key is removed - several screws must be unscrewed for this. After that, you need to throw off the generator belt, using a key to 19 mm, in order to loosen the adjusting nut of the engine bracket. With a 38 mm spanner, the crankshaft pulley is loosened, after which it can be removed. Sometimes the pulley strongly boils, in this case, you should use a special puller.

Having fitted the crankshaft oil seal with a screwdriver, pull it out of the timing cover (gas distribution mechanism).

Now you need a new epiploon To press in a cover of drive ГРМ. To do this, an old seal or a pipe of the appropriate diameter is suitable. Pre-seal the crankshaft oil with engine oil. Do not forget to pay attention to the marking, where the size of the stuffing box is specified, in this case the inside diameter should be 40 mm, and the outer diameter - 56 mm. After pressing, we collect everything in the reverse order.

The crankshaft rear seal is significantly more difficult to change. Also put the car on the lift, turn on the neutral gear and remove it from the handbrake.

First of all, it is necessary to remove the gearbox, for this we detach the minus terminal from the battery. In the car we remove the gearshift and, removing the upholstery, unscrew the cover that closes the opening in the floor. Sequentially remove the starter, disconnect the reverse wires, disconnect the propeller shaft, remove the speedometer cable, disconnect the clutch release cylinder from the crankcase, unscrew the clutch housing bolts. Under the gearbox we put a reliable rack and unscrew the clutch housing from the cylinder block. After inserting the assembly between the crankcase and the block, pull the crankcase off the guide bushings. Carefully moving back the gearbox, pull out the primary shaft from the clutch disc. The gearbox is removed.

Now remove the flywheel: to do this, remove the basket, and then the clutch disk. We screw a bolt in an aperture on the block of cylinders. We take the assembly and, leaning on the bolt, insert between the teeth of the flywheel to prevent it from turning. The key for 17 mm unscrew the bolts securing the flywheel. We remove the flywheel from the crankshaft, and then - the clutch plate (it is better to remove the gland fixing so as not to damage the crankshaft flange when installing a new gasket). We unscrew on the crankcase of the engine two bolts which are fastened to the stuffing box holder. The holder itself is held on six bolts, take the key for 10 mm and, using a screwdriver, remove it together with the gasket. Holding the holder in a vice, through a special hole, knock out the crankshaft oil seal.

Lubricate the new gasket with engine oil and press it with an old oil seal or trim a pipe that fits the diameter, and then reassemble everything in the reverse order. Do not forget about the size of the stuffing box: for this model, the inner diameter should be 70 mm, and the outer diameter - 90 mm.

When replacing oil seals, it is necessary to determine exactly why they are out of order! It is possible that the crankshaft itself is damaged and replacing the stuffing box will not solve the problem. Be careful, good luck.
