Volgograd region, Svetly Yar: history, current state and prospects for the development of the village

The picturesque nature and abundance of natural resources is famous for the Volgograd region. Historical reference

In the first half of the 18th century, on the site of a modern settlement there was a guard outpost, which went down in history as Tatyaninsky. At that time, along the banks of the Volga, there were practically no large permanent settlements, and the modern Volgograd Region was not fully developed either. Bright Yar is the name first mentioned in 1785. Then the village was officially based on the outpost base by order of Prince PS. Potemkin. According to the population census of 1816, 278 men and 237 women lived in the village.

The origin of the unusual name is not known exactly.
