His father Ivan Fedorovich was a pilot of the civil air fleet of the USSR, after retiring, he went to correspondents, was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, then - to the Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation. The boy's mother, Galina Pavlovna Korotkova, worked as a design engineer. Since childhood, parents have brought up a son's love for sports. In his school years Vladimir was fond of sambo, rugby, road cycling, rowing, he was not indifferent to chess. In the 7th form he began to pursue water tourism. This kind of sport attracted the guy so much that after a while he began to independently travel on kayaks along the rivers. Active way of life did not prevent Vladimir from studying well. The boy graduated from school with a gold medal.

Studies at the institute, scientific activity

After school Lysenko Vladimir Ivanovich entered the aircraft building faculty of Kharkov Aviation Institute. Having graduated with a red diploma, the traveler became a graduate student of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. In 1982, Lysenko successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, and 20 years later - a doctoral thesis. Today, he is a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, he works as a research fellow at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Khristianovich in Novosibirsk.

A family

Vladimir Lysenko, whose photo is presented in this publication, is married, he has two adult children. His son Victor was born in 1980. He graduated from the Economics Department of Novosibirsk State University, now lives in Krasnodar. The daughter of Vladimir Ivanovich Svetlana was born in 1983. Like her brother, she graduated from the economics faculty of NSU, after her studies moved to Moscow, today she lives in Holland.

The first rafting from Everest

Lysenko successfully combines scientific work and personal life with the main passion of his life - travel. The passion for them in Vladimir appeared during his active activities in water tourism. Until 1990, it passed on kayaks practically all the large rivers of the Soviet Union.

For several years, Lysenko was dreaming of launching a catamaran from Mount Everest along the high-mountain Dudh-Kosi River, which flows in Nepal. However, during the Soviet era, it was impossible for a common man to leave the country. The chance to fulfill his cherished dream came to Vladimir only in 1989, when Gorbachev signed a decree allowing Soviet citizens to travel abroad at the invitation of foreigners. To get to Nepal, Lysenko went to the trick: he met with a student at the Moscow University of Peoples' Friendship, a Nepalese student, and asked him to persuade his brother to send him an invitation to his country. Vladimir's venture was a success, and in 1991 he went to Nepal.

Down the mountain rivers

Between 1991 and 1996, Vladimir Lysenko carried out the descent on the catamarans on the rivers flowing in the mountains, the height of which exceeds 8 thousand meters above sea level. The brave traveler managed to conquer all 14 eight-thousandths existing on the Earth (Everest, Chogori, Makalu, Lhodz, Cho-Oyu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Shishabangma, Nanga-Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II). In addition, he descended on a catamaran from the highest mountain peaks of all continents, including Antarctica.

In 1996, Lysenko set a world record, rafting along the high mountain river Everest from a height of 5.6 thousand meters. For this act he was recognized as the most desperate traveler of the Russian Federation. In total, Vladimir Ivanovich managed to descend the mountain rivers in 57 countries of the world. He became the first water tourist from Russia to make a kayak trip from the mountains located in the territory of Nepal, Bhutan, China, India and a number of other countries.

Round-the-world on four wheels

In 1997-2002 the Novosibirsk scientist made a unique expedition around the world by car. His route ran through the extreme points of all the continents. During the car run Vladimir Ivanovich traveled all the continents in the direction from north to south and from west to east. In total, he crossed 160 thousand kilometers, having visited thus in 62 countries.

Expedition on a bicycle

In 2006, Lysenko went on a new round-the-world trip on a two-wheeled bicycle. On an iron horse, he crossed all of Eurasia, Africa, North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, Nauru and Kiribati. During the trip, the traveler had to cover 150-200 km a day. The expedition lasted until 2011. During this period Vladimir Ivanovich rode a bicycle 41,8 thousand kilometers, visiting the territories of 29 states. The only mainland to which he did not hit was Antarctica.

Journey along the equator

From 2004 to 2012 Lysenko carried out a round-the-world trip along the equator. The essence of the expedition was to go along the conventional line of division of the Earth, deviating it by a maximum of 2 ° in Greenwich. Vladimir Ivanovich overcame great distances by car, bicycle, motor boat, yacht and kayak. In particularly difficult places he had to walk. The journey was conducted in several stages and took a total of 260 days. The length of the route was 40 thousand km, of which 35 thousand traveler had to swim on the water. As part of the expedition, he crossed Africa, Indonesia, South America, the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

A round-the-world trip around the equator was fraught with many dangers. In Africa, Vladimir Lysenko happened to go through the Congo, where the war was going on. Fortunately, the traveler was lucky, and he did not get under fire or captured. In South America, Lysenko made his way through the territory controlled by the revolutionary army of Colombia. In order not to be captured by local partisans, he had to seek help from Colombian drug producers. Those agreed to send Vladimir Ivanovich on his motor boat, saving him from the partisans.

In Brazil, Lysenko overcame the most difficult 90-kilometer route through the deserted jungle. I had to walk on foot, cutting my way with a knife and navigating the compass and GPS-navigator. The traveler repeatedly fell and was traumatized, but advanced forward, because he could not count on the help of people in the deaf jungle. After completing a round-the-world trip along the equator, Vladimir Ivanovich set a world record. Prior to it, a similar expedition was made by Mike Horn from South Africa, however, not wanting to get to the epicenter of military operations in the Congo, he was forced to deviate from the equator by 5 ° GMT. Lysenko in this region has shifted from the conditional line by only 2 degrees, showing the best result.

From depth to height

In 2004, he set another record Vladimir Lysenko. The biography of the Novosibirsk scientist was supplemented with another unique achievement after he took part in the program "From the depths of the Earth to the stratosphere". Within its framework, Vladimir made a descent into one of the deepest mines of the planet "Mpongor", located in South Africa, to a depth of 3.5 km, after which he drove through the whole of Africa, crossed Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and reached Moscow. In the capital, he moved to a plane and made several ascents to a height of 11 to 16.5 km. During the entire period of the journey, the maximum altitude difference from the depths of the earth's interior to the level of the stratosphere was 20 km.

Presidency of the TFR

Vladimir Ivanovich became the initiator of the Union of World Travelers of Russia (TFR). The organization, which appeared in August 2004, included Russian travelers who traveled all over the globe, climbers and rafters who visited the highest mountain peaks of all continents, as well as people who visited more than 100 countries for their lives. The president of the TFR is its founder Lysenko Vladimir. Besides him, the Union includes more than 40 people, including Fedor Konyukhov, Nikolai Litau, Valery Shanin, Viktor Yazykov, Vyacheslav Krasko.

Vladimir Lysenko: traveler's books

A Novosibirsk scientist devoted a quarter of a century to distant wanderings. Impressions received from them, he willingly shares with readers on the pages of his books ("Around the world on a bicycle," "Around the world at the equator," etc.). In them he describes his fascinating adventures, tells about the dangers that lie in wait for the tourist in distant countries, gives advice on preparing for travel. Vladimir Lysenko is the author of 5 books published between 1997 and 2014. Each of them is dedicated to his separate expedition.

Round-the-world travel requires a lot of time and money, but for a person who wants to see the whole world, there are no obstacles. Vladimir Ivanovich travels mainly on the means of sponsors during the holiday period. Throughout the rest of the time he is engaged in science. This approach allows the scientist to successfully combine the pleasant with the useful and get the maximum pleasure from life.
