Universal ship-invisible - corvette "Steregushchy"

The Russian fleet in 2007 replenished with the newest multi-purpose ship. The founder of the series 20380 was the corvette Steregushchy, which received its name in honor of two destroyers, each of which contributed to the chronicle of the naval glory of our Motherland.

In 1907, there was a war with Japan. With the defense of Port Arthur, a situation developed in which the destroyer Steregushchy accepted the battle with four enemy ships of the same class, which were soon joined by two cruisers, counting on an easy victory. As a result of the battle, all Japanese ships received significant damage, and the Russian destroyer lost its course. The team flooded its ship, and it went to the bottom, without getting to the enemy and not lowering the Andreevsky flag.

In 1941 another destroyer with the same name was the first to sink a German submarine at the Baltic Maritime Theater of Military Operations.

The new corvette "Steregushchy" has unusual contours. Its silhouette, outlined by bold inclined lines and planes, is not only beautiful, it is rationally arranged to give the ship a minimal visibility on the radar screens. Visually, he is also unobtrusive. Almost all weapons and antennas are hidden inside the case. Excellent driving performance is combined with effective armament and a high degree of autonomy (up to 400 thousand nautical miles).

A sophisticated control system in combination with stabilizing wings makes it possible to fire with all means equipped with Steregushchy. The corvette can carry out any combat missions in the event of agitation up to five points.

The speed of the ship is 30 knots (knot is one mile or 1852 m / hour). The crew, counting the service staff of the air wing (helicopter), is one hundred people. With a length of 105 meters corvette "Steregushchy" can not be called a giant, its displacement - 2000 tons. But, as in many other cases, the size is not the main thing. The project is revolutionary, this ship can change all the concepts of modern naval combat.

Arms of the corvette are systems of very different purposes. The artillery is represented by a 100-millimeter installation capable of firing in automatic mode, capturing and accompanying several targets, while choosing the highest-priority threats. SAM "Klinok" reliably protects the corvette "Steregushchy" from air attacks of a possible enemy. There are also bomb-making facilities for the fight against submarines. Torpedo vehicles are equipped with super-high-speed jet submarines.

The corvette is capable of effectively attacking surface ships, including aircraft carriers, and coastal bases.

On one specimen shipbuilders from St. Petersburg and Komsomolsk-on-Amur did not stop. Two other corvettes of Project 20380 of the Baltic Fleet are already in operation: "Sobystvitelny" and "Boykin". At the stage of completion of the construction there are two more, and a couple is planned to be bookmarked.

During the International Maritime Defense Show in 2007 in St. Petersburg, none of the participating countries presented such a sensational ship as Steregushchy. A corvette, whose photo against the background of the Peter and Paul Fortress symbolizes continuity of the fleet - the offspring of Peter the Great, bypassed all world publications. The countries that are strategic allies of Russia have shown interest in the project.
