It is a fountain created by nature itself, the tides turn it into a natural geyser, from which salt fountains of water break through. At a time when the waves begin their slow moving towards the shore, a huge well begins to greedily lick the immense streams of water, absorbing them without a trace.

And in the tidal period everything looks even more dramatic. After swallowing another huge portion of water, a strong pillar suddenly begins to gush forth from the abyss, instilling a primordial nightmare. At first glance it may seem as if the underground giant was angry because of the flow of water that poured onto his head, and pushed it all back. But only a second later everything repeats, and the crushing avalanche again tends to the black well, in order to burst forth into powerful fountains in the next instant. The sight of the amazing phenomenon with the coming of the half-light is even more beautiful: thanks to the western location of Oregon, the sunsets are very surprising, but the sight of the devil's well under the setting sun is simply amazing.

The well of the Torah has other names, for example, "The Gates of Hell" or "The Gates of the Underground". If you are interested in the history of the name, according to legend, at one time in this place there was a couple in love. But for inexplicable reasons, the young girl was jealous and killed her boyfriend. God Thor, seeing this, turned youthful blood into a spring. Since that time, a well has appeared on the site of the murder. The story is sad, it just gives this place a mysterious and tragic hue.

More than 6,000 years ago, castes of indigenous people of the South American continent lived on the coast near the cape of Perpetua. They hunted different crabs, shellfish and sea urchins. To this day, this is reminiscent of a large number of shells on the shore of the Well of the Torah.
