The incredible bridges of St. Petersburg

The construction of the Foundry Bridge was completed in 1879. The name of this bridge came from the Cannon Foundry. It is bred using powerful advanced lifts in just a couple of minutes. It was on this bridge that for the first time lanterns, working automatically, were installed from electricity. The cast-iron lattices of the bridge bear the image of mermaids holding the coat of arms of St. Petersburg. You can see it in the heart of the city - on Liteiny Prospekt.

Bridging of bridges in St. Petersburg is prohibited if the wind speed exceeds 15 m per second or on the street there is a heat of more than 25◦ C. In the rest of the time, you can observe such a mesmerizing picture.

The longest of the bridges on the Neva is the Trinity Bridge, formerly known as the Kirovsky Bridge. Its length is 580 m. It lies between Suvorov and Trinity squares. The building was completed in 1903, and the construction was spent 6 years. The French company "Batignol" sponsored all this, and the engineers from Russia were already engaged in reconstruction of the bridge. The bridge was built in honor of the bicentenary of St. Petersburg, for the opening ceremony was observed by Nicholas II himself. The bridge was created with metal, with a beautiful openwork design of 5 arches. After reconstruction in 2002, restored the design part of the bridge, painted and modernized it, replaced the granite facing, returned the image of the crown and two-headed eagles.
