Consider the principle of the internal combustion engine, the unit of which has 4 cylinders. Why 4? Because the full cycle of modern engines has 4 cycles, so they are called 4-stroke. Let's assume that the scheme of the engine is as follows: 1-3-4-2.

The bars have such names in order: inlet, compression, working stroke and exhaust (exhaust). Thus, according to the scheme, when the first cylinder has the first bar, in the second cylinder - the second, in the third - the fourth, in the third - the third. The discrepancy of the latter is dictated by the condition that the working stroke is made through one cylinder. This is done so that the engine work is uniform. This will extend the life of the device.

In order for the vehicle's engine to develop full power, all processes such as fuel injection, which can flow through the intake valves, either through high-pressure injectors, sparking at the spark plug electrodes , or ignition of the mixture under pressure, as in the case of diesel Engines, as well as the opening of exhaust valves for exhaust gases.

In addition, attention should be paid to such "small things" as the quality of the gasoline being poured. The word is not in vain put in quotation marks, since this factor is quite important, therefore, before any adjustments of the engine it is necessary to make sure of the quality of the fuel, especially diesel, as many foreign cars are rather finicky to domestic diesel fuel.

The engine of the car will last longer if you warm it up before the trip. To do this, it is desirable to install a preheater, since starting the device at its temperature below +20 and warming up to working 90 is equivalent to a run of 500 km, and this is quite a long trip.

From the above it follows that compliance with simple operating rules, as well as the use of proven fuels, lubricants and coolant, leads to an increase in the life of the power unit.
