The best resorts of Turkey on the Black Sea

Turkey - a country that for many years beckons everyone who wants to beautiful and at the same time cheap rest. For many years, its Mediterranean resorts enjoyed immense popularity, where mostly Russians came to rest. Soon the tourists realized that this region is very congested, and the northern Turkish coast, which is washed by the Black Sea, has gained popularity. How does it rest and what's interesting?

General information about the region

At first glance it seems that any resort of Turkey on the Black Sea is cold, windy and uncomfortable. Someone associates it with typical Sochi beaches, others believe that there is no sun and there are others who think that the Black Sea is too cold water.

But everything will fall into place, if you look at the map. Have you ever been cold in the summer in the Crimea? And in the Kuban? In these regions, the heat in July and August is unthinkable. And the northern Turkish coast is still to the south, practically in the tropical climatic zone. The average daytime temperature in the shade here is +32 degrees, the sea is warming up to 25-28 - is it cold? As for the winds and rains, it is also not worth worrying about. On the one hand, this region is protected by the Caucasus mountains, and on the other - by the Balkan ranges. Therefore, bad weather just does not reach here.

Well, now we offer to consider in detail each resort of Turkey on the Black Sea, in which there is something remarkable.

Sinop

This place has no exact date of birth, because because of its unearthly beauty it has attracted people from time immemorial. Sinop is a resort of Turkey on the Black Sea, which is located on the Boztepe peninsula. From the mainland it is fenced off by a mountain range, which doubly protects it from unwanted cyclones. This city is concurrently the resort center of the country, and the largest port. Tourists should definitely like the "beach of the mermaid", which is covered with snow-white sand. In addition to it, in the city and its environs you can find the most beautiful harbors, drowning in the waters of the sea and the greenery of nature.

In Sinope you can also see the most beautiful sights. Local residents are proud of the Alaeddin Mosque, which was erected in the 13th century. Also, the attraction is a local prison, from which no one could ever escape, and the temple of Balatlar. The Romans built it as a theater, and only during the Byzantine Empire did the building become used as a church.

Samsun, Turkey

The most popular resort on the northern coast of the country, which is in demand mainly from European tourists. It was founded in the 6th century BC by the Greeks, here for a long time was their colony. Therefore, the feeling that you are in Europe will not leave you while you are studying Samsun. Turkey, however, also placed its accents here in the form of mosques.

The most popular local temple is the Charshamba Mosque of Gegjeli Jami. Half the building is made of wood, but this did not prevent him from holding out in his original state for eight centuries. The Muslim temple of Charshamba Sheikh Habil Jami is somewhat younger, but he is completely built of wood.

This famous resort of Turkey on the Black Sea is also famous for its healing springs. Hamapressy Kaplyadzasy is located 15 kilometers from the city and consists of four hot pools. Two of them are intended for men, the second two for women. Most people who have problems with joints come here for treatment.

The eastern city of Trabzon

This place is intended for fans of history and ethnography, for those who prefer to learn something new, to get acquainted with the color of different countries and peoples. There are several key points that you should know if you intend to spend your holidays in Trabzon.

Turkey is an eastern country, very colorful and bright, and this city emphasizes all these qualities more than others. Previously, it was a transit point on the Silk Road, so it absorbed all the delights of the East. The main attraction of Trabzon is the Cathedral of St. Sophia, which was built during the Byzantine Empire. Now it plays the role of a museum, where all the Christian relics are preserved. The oldest building in the city is a medieval castle. On it you can simply walk, feeling the spirit of a bygone era. Also here is a magnificent Sumela monastery, which is a masterpiece of architecture.

For the sake of justice, it should be noted that in the tourist plan, Trabzon is an underdeveloped city. The system "all inclusive" works far from all hotels, there are difficulties with the English-speaking service. The cuisine in the city is mostly local - high-calorie and very sharp.

Rize, Turkey

The town, which is located in the north-east of the country, literally borders with the Caucasus mountains. Due to this, the local landscape looks like a fairy tale - incredibly green, mountainous, bright and colorful. In addition to all this, the city is in the bay of the Black Sea, where it is always calm and windless. The main asset of this area is its nature. Tourists are offered to climb the plateau of Ikizdere, Chamlyhishim or Aider, to admire the bay and tea plantations from a bird's eye view. A few tens of kilometers from the city there are thermal springs - Ayder and Andon.

Fishermen are engaged in their favorite business here on the shores of high-mountain lakes. From the same peaks with high speed, rivers run down, along which the rafters on their boats overcome all obstacles. It is worth noting that the infrastructure in Rize is well developed. There are many hotels of the "above average" class, nightclubs, restaurants and bars.

Giresun is a city with a double history

Not far from Samsun, simultaneously in the sea bay and in the greenery, another pearl of the East is located. Holidaymakers, especially our compatriots, know practically nothing about such a town as Giresun. Turkey hid it between the more vibrant resorts, and perhaps not in vain, because it is here that the cleanest air, the quietest streets, the most unique landscapes.

The center of the city is the center of two civilizations - Eastern and European. There is a Catholic cathedral erected in the 18th century, as well as several houses made in the same European spirit. In the very center is Giresun Fortress, as a symbol of the power of the region. The second half of the historic part of the city is occupied by typically Turkish buildings. These are mosques, and houses in the oriental style, and monuments. Five kilometers from the center of Giresun there are incredibly beautiful beaches.

Forgotten Resort

All modern guides only mention casually a small town called Zonguldak. Turkey, as is known, is a large exporter of coal, and it is from this region that this product is delivered to European countries by sea. Zonguldak is located near Istanbul, it is close to the border with Greece, but is located in the bay of the Black Sea.

Many argue that this city is purely port and industrial (something like Odessa), there are no chic white beaches, there is no service and five-star hotels. In many respects these words correspond to reality, but we propose to examine the city from a completely different perspective. First, there is a huge number of architectural monuments - bridges, house museums, Orthodox churches and mosques. Natural beauty - simply indescribable. What only stands Mount Gel, the forest named after the National Sovereignty, the caves of Kyzyl Elma and much more. As for the beaches - they are really narrow here, small, but very picturesque.

A small sandy strip is bordered by mountains, overgrown with bushes and grasses. These beaches are considered the most secluded and quiet in all of Turkey.

Summarizing

The northern coast of Turkey is one of the best places for summer holidays. Pluses here are found literally in everything.

The resorts are not visited, there are few people, nature is incredibly beautiful, there are historical sights. In the north of Turkey, as nowhere else is the color of this country, both architectural and national. And of course, the variety of local resorts allows you to choose the type of rest - beach, active or cognitive.
