Step-by-step instruction: how to remove "Media Get"

People who spend a lot of time on their computer may well face the following problem: once the downloaded application has become useless and should be deleted. But, unfortunately, this is not always possible to do simply.

This article will talk about how to remove "Media Get". Of course, this program is not among the hard to remove, but still many have difficulties in this process. Fortunately, there is more than one way to uninstall programs on the Windows operating system. In the article three will be disassembled, they are simultaneously similar and at the same time cardinally differ from each other.

How to open the program's root folder

Before telling how to remove "Media Get", you need to mention how to open the root folder of this program. This is necessary because the first method presented in this article requires access to files, and many do not know how to get to them.

So, in "Windows", "Media Get" is usually installed on drive C, but this is the case if you did not specify a different directory. Consider all ways to access this folder.

We open through the shortcut and the menu "Start"

Let's start with the simplest - opening through the shortcut program. This method is suitable not only for MediaGet, but for all other programs. If after the installation on your desktop there is a shortcut, then you can easily get into the directory of the application to which it belongs. To do this, you need:

  1. Right-click on the program shortcut.
  2. Select File Location from the menu.

After that, immediately opens the folder we need, that is, the root folder.

But it can also be that after installing the program, the shortcut is not on the desktop (you did not put a checkmark in the installation or simply deleted it). Then you can get to the application directory using the "Start" menu. To do this, you need:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Select "All Programs".
  3. In the list, find MediaGet.
  4. Right-click on it.
  5. Select "File location".

That's all, as mentioned above, this is the easiest way to find the root folder of the program. But what if there is no object on the desktop or in the "Start" menu? Do not be in a hurry to despair, the MediaGet directory can be found in another way.

Open through hidden folders

If you did not make any adjustments during the installation of the program, then your program was installed on drive C. Now you will find out exactly where MediaGet 2 got up and how to get there. But before this it is worth making a small remark. The fact is that the "Media Get" version of the new build is installed a little differently - in a hidden folder. To get to the root folder of the program, you will need to open this hidden folder. But in order not to perform unnecessary manipulation, first look for MediaGet 2 in the Program Files, which is located on the C drive. If it was not found there, do the following:

  1. Log in to the control panel. To do this, open the "Start" menu and on the sidebar click on the label with the same name.
  2. In the window that opens, find the "Folder Options" item and go there.
  3. Another window will appear. In it, you immediately need to go to the "View" tab.
  4. In the "Additional Options" area, in the list, find the item "Hidden files and folders". Check the box next to "Show hidden files, folders and drives".
  5. Click "Apply" and close all windows.

You just made sure that the same folders in which the program is installed become visible. Now you can get to the files. For this you need:

  1. Enter the "Explorer", in other words, open the shortcut "My Computer".
  2. Go to "Local drive (C :)".
  3. Next, open the "Users" folder.
  4. Select the folder with your name specified when registering Windows.
  5. Now find and open the AppData folder. It was up to this point that it was invisible, its transparency shows it.
  6. In it, open the Local folder.

Now you are where you need it. You need to go to the folder MediaGet 2 - this is the root folder of the program.

Uninstall via uninstaller

So, now we'll figure out how to remove "Media Get". Using the uninstaller is exactly the way that requires finding the root folder of the program, and since you already know where to find it, you can easily use it.

In the root folder you need to find a file called mediaget-uninstaller. It is this file that will help to remove the program. Open it, you will immediately be asked: "Are you sure you want to remove MediaGet?" In the event that you click "Yes", the program and all its components will disappear forever from your hard drive, otherwise the action will be canceled.

This was the first way how to remove "Media Get" from the computer, but not the last. It's pretty simple if you know where to find the root folder of the program, but if you tried your best to find it and you did not succeed, the second way is just for you.

Uninstalling through "Programs and Features"

Now let's talk about how to remove "Media Get" using standard Windows tools. You can also use this method to delete other programs.

Initially you need to get into the "Programs and components" to do this, you need:

  1. Login to the "Control Panel".
  2. In the list, find and open "Programs and components."

Here everything is quite simple, but if you could not find the utility in this way, you can enter the following expression into the address line of the explorer: "Control Panel \ All Control Panel Items \ Programs and Components".

In programs and components, find the name of the required application and on top of the panel click "Delete". After you agree with your decision, and the program completely disappears.

Uninstalling with Unistaller

Now it's time to tell about the last method, how to remove the program "Media Get" from the computer. It is applicable in the case if MediaGet does not exist in the Programs and Components, but you are sure that it is on the computer.

You will need to download the Unistaller program from iObit. After installing and opening it, you will see something similar to programs and components. That's right. There is a list of programs, and to delete one of them, you need to select it and click the "Delete" button.

There may be a question about how this way differs from the previous one. In general, nothing, but it may well be that MediaGet in the "Programs and Components" will not be visible, and this program will detect it in any case.
