Soviet actress Tatyana Samoylova: biography, life history and interesting facts

Tatyana Samoilova was envied for her incredible beauty and, of course, for that and hated. But the guru of post-impressionism, Picasso once told her that she is a real goddess. Her palm print is still on the waterfront in Cannes. She was beautiful, talented, but her life did not always develop as she would like. The story of Tatyana Evgenievna Samoilova will be told in the article.

The actress's father saw himself only as an artist

Tatiana Samoilova was born in the northern capital in 1934 in an intelligent family. Her father was a famous actor. When he was still at school, he began to paint and could spend days in the Hermitage or in the Russian Museum. At this time, he saw himself as a painter. When he graduated from high school, it was time to really decide on the future profession. His classmate recommended him to enroll in one of the private theatrical schools, where he himself was going. So it happened. He became an actor of one of the famous theaters in St. Petersburg. A few years later, he met and his future wife, who once studied at the Electrotechnical Institute. They were married, and soon the newlyweds had their first coveted child - the future actress Tatiana.

In the company of great actors

In the northern capital, little Tatyana lived for three years. In 1937, my father was invited to the Meyerhold Theater, and the whole family decided to move to Moscow.

Of course, Tatyana grew up and was brought up in the theater, among the actors. Since childhood, she has "absorbed" this unique theatrical atmosphere. And no wonder that she already knew perfectly well who she would become in the future.

In the capital, the Samoilov family lived in one room of the hostel. The floor itself was inhabited by the director Vsevolod Meyerhold himself and his wife Zinaida Reich. Often, the most famous actors of that era came to the light, among them were I. Ilyinsky and E. Garin.

After some time the famous director was arrested. And his theater is closed.

Tatyana's father could not find a job in the Melpomene churches in the capital, and so he went to Kiev. The fact is that the famous director Alexander Dovzhenko approved him for the main role of Nikolai Shchors in the movie of the same name.

When this film was released, the father of the future actress for this work received not only the Stalin Prize, but also a separate apartment.

Ballerina

When the war began, Tanya had to go to first grade. However, it was ordered that all families of the winners of the Stalin Prize must leave the capital in an orderly and urgent order. Samoilov had to quickly get together and evacuate.

Two years later, the acting family returned to Moscow. My father was given a job in the Mayakovsky Theater, and he began to work on the role of Hamlet.

Young Tatiana constantly went to these rehearsals, and also watched the performances. In a word, she already knew the entire repertoire of the theater. However, she did not dream about the path of a dramatic actress, but about the career of a ballerina. That's why at the age of ten she began attending a ballet studio. She was supposed to have a very great future. Even the great Maya Plisetskaya somehow invited her to study to her, to the Bolshoi Theater. But by this time Tatyana was already focused exclusively on acting.

Film-making

After receiving secondary education, Tatiana tried to enter the capital theatrical high school. Unfortunately, the teachers did not see a great talent in the future actress. At the entrance exams she did not get one point. True, Tatiana did not become discouraged and determined to be an auditor at the theatrical school. Shchukin. And after a while officially became a student.

During the training in "Pike" she was invited to the role of Masha in the movie "Mexican" V. Kaplunsky. It was a film adaptation of the work of the great writer Jack London.

And in 1956 she became a certified actress.

First success

During these times, she happened to play one of the best roles in the cinema. It's about the famous film "The Cranes Are Flying" directed by M. Kalatozov.

By the way, not everyone knows that this role was given to the actress extremely difficult. The fact is that at that time Tatiana made a sad diagnosis - tuberculosis. She kept on unceasing injections, but still went out onto the playground. And so it was for six months, every day, almost without days off, from morning till late at night.

When the tape came out, the film critics met her with hostility. The reaction to the film was, to put it mildly, more than cool. But among the innumerable flow of dissatisfied there were people who liked the picture.

But a truly colossal success came in 1958, when the film crew went to the prestigious film festival in Cannes.

At the event, the great painter Picasso told Samoilova that she would become a real star. The famous artist was right. So, the authors of the picture received the Grand Prix, and the film itself was awarded the "Golden Palm Branch". Also, Samoilova's excellent work, of course, did not go unnoticed. She was recognized as the best actress.

Samoylova Tatyana Evgenevna, whose biography is full of interesting events, was shocked by Cannami. However, unprecedented attention and unprecedented luxury did not dislodge it. She managed to quickly learn and communicate with colleagues on an equal footing.

Calm

After triumph in work, a certain calm has come.

Tatiana Samoilova, an actress, returned to the capital and entered GITIS. In addition, she was accepted into the troupe of the Theater. V. Mayakovsky. A little later, she moved to the Vakhtangov Theater. Until 1960 I worked there.

In 1959, Mikhail Kalatozov once again offered to take part in his new project. It was called Unsent Letter. For Tatyana, the screenwriters wrote a special role for Tanya. She shared the set with such amazing partners as Smoktunovsky, Urban, Livanov.

Unfortunately, the picture was heavily criticized. The director had to even change the ending of the whole film. Venerable coryphaeus S. Gerasimov and M. Romm very much done to save the tape.

Unfaithful Hollywood actress

In the last Kalatozov film, the role of Samoilova was more than successful. Accordingly, she could expect more. But her desires did not coincide with reality.

Also, after the deafening success in Cannes, Tatyana Samoilova, a Soviet actress, was invited to Hollywood. And she was offered the role of Anna Karenina! Note, her partner was to be none other than the brilliant French actor Gerard Philip. Unfortunately, the Goskino leadership decided not to let the actress go to the Dream Factory. As it turned out, she did not belong to herself.

So, the artist of the USSR Samoilova Tatyana Evgenevna starred in an incomprehensible film that she called "Leon Garros looking for a friend." The film premiered in the French capital.

Then she had to take part in the war film "They went to the East." The director was Giuseppe De Santis. This Italian Samoilov sincerely appreciated. But her role was completely uninteresting. The actress recalled that she had nothing to do at all. In a word, she was invited to the shooting only because her name was needed first of all.

The ingenious game

But before that, Samoilov was invited to shoot the film "Alba Regia". He was filmed by the director from Romania Mihai Semesh. Tatyana was given the role of scout, and her partner was the magnificent Hungarian actor Miklos Gabor.

The actress had to learn Hungarian. And to enter into a new image, she began to communicate with the prototype of her character. It was a well-known Soviet intelligence officer who miraculously survived during the war.

The shooting lasted for two years. The actress lived in Hungary, and when the picture came out, Western critics recognized Samoilova's play as genius. Also for this work she was given a large fee. In any case, she returned home on her own "Opel" and with a beautiful wardrobe. However, because of this, the attitude towards her has worsened even more. She was genuinely jealous, spread rumors, gossiped. And officials "from culture" strongly disliked it.

So, after this film, Samoilov was invited to star in a Yugoslavian film. The actress was to be reincarnated as Queen Mary Stewart. But she was banned from participating in this project.

16th screen adaptation of the great novel

After all these events, Tatiana Samoilova, whose films were bright and memorable, once again disappeared from the screen. For three years she was not involved in any of the films. True, she continued to work in the theater. In addition, she regularly went to meetings with her fans.

In 1967, struck the second "star hour" of this magnificent actress. She was given the role of Anna Karenina. Recall, it was the sixteenth world film adaptation of the classic novel.

The film was enthusiastically received by fans. The very picture in the history of Soviet cinema was the second most attended by the screen version of Russian classics, apart from Bondarchuk's "War and Peace."

As always, after the triumph of Samoilova, once again talking everywhere.

Oblivion

Of course, after an obvious triumph Tatyana Samoilova, a biography whose family was interested in many of her fans, was waiting for interesting proposals from film masters. But these hopes were only dreams. From that moment on, terrible years of oblivion awaited her.

No, sometimes she was invited to appear, but gave her exceptionally episodic roles. And from the mid-70's, the great actress disappeared completely from the blue screens.

Two decades later, they suddenly recalled her. So, she was invited to the next film festival in Cannes. She was the guest of honor of this event.

A few years later, director A. Zarikovsky was able to shoot a documentary about Samoilova. It was called "Tragic pause, or Tatyana's day".

In the late 90's, she was finally invited to appear in a feature film. It was called "24 hours". The main actors were Maxim Sukhanov and Andrei Panin.

Four years later, Tatyana Evgenievna Samoilova also was involved in episodic roles. It's about the films "The Moscow Saga" and "Saint-Germain".

One of the last films with her participation was the picture of "Nirvana", dated 2008.

By this time about Samoylov as an actress there were different rumors. Some claimed that she abused alcohol. Others spoke of a mental disorder. However, close people who knew the actress perfectly, said that her main "illness" is exclusively in solitude.

Tragedy

Last years the talented actress Samoilova Tatyana Evgenevna lived in her two-room apartment. There was no one with her. She was alone. In addition, in poverty. Neither the car nor the dacha, as it turned out, did not work.

In those days, she was helped financially by the Guild of Actors. And one of the popular TV programs even made a modern renovation in her apartment.

In May 2004, the management of the House of Cinema prepared a creative evening in her honor. The event was scheduled for 6th day, in honor of the 80th birthday of the actress, who she was supposed to celebrate on May 4.

In addition, for the jubilee, the documentary filmmakers also planned to film the corresponding film.

Samoilova Tatyana Evgenevna, an artist of the USSR, despite her poor health, broke out into the shooting. And on May 4th, on her birthday, this great actress was gone. As it turned out, the doctors brought her to the Botkin hospital with coronary heart disease. A few hours later, by the evening, her condition deteriorated sharply, and thirty minutes before midnight Tatiana Samoilova died.

They named her granddaughter Tatiana

As a student, Tatiana Samoilova married. Her chosen one was Vasily Lanovoy. Years later she confessed that this actor was the greatest love in her life.

The marriage lasted six years. In 1957, Tatyana waited for twins. The young husband was looking forward to the joy of fatherhood and was sincerely happy. But she was involved in the film "The Cranes Are Flying." Therefore, she decided to get rid of pregnancy, although her husband was categorically against it. They say that the actor could not forgive her. And after a while they divorced.

The second husband of Tatyana was the beginning novelist Valery Osipov. According to her memoirs, he was able to take care of her like no other. She told me that the houses always had flowers, baskets with various fruits and, of course, expensive gifts. However, as she said, she did not like her husband. They lived together for ten years. During this time, she herself wanted a child, but the problems of incompatibility of blood put a fat cross on the continuation of the genus. As a result, the couple broke up.

After that Tatyana Samoilova, a national actress, did not even want to hear about the representatives of the stronger sex. However, one day I met with the administrator of the circus Eduard Mashkovich. For one year he managed to win her heart, although he was younger than her.

The last spouse of the actress was a writer, director and journalist Solomon Shulman. They lived together for four years and parted without mutual reproaches.

Well, the last. In a marriage with Mashkovich Tatyana gave birth to a long-awaited son - Dmitry. When he grew up, he went to the United States, works there as a doctor. They say that his colleagues and patients are very fond of him. He got married. The spouse's name is Marta. The family grows daughter Tatiana, whose name was given in honor of her famous grandmother.
