Sights of the capital: Kazan station (metro station "Komsomolskaya")
Many do not know at which metro station Kazansky railway station is located. This is not surprising, because the name of the station does not match the name of the metro. In fact, it is located on Komsomolskaya (formerly Kalanchevskaya) Square, which is also called the "Square of Three Railway Stations", because it houses Yaroslavsky, Leningrad and Kazan stations.
Today Kazan station (metro station "Komsomolskaya") serves many popular destinations. You can get to the Black Sea coast, Vladikavkaz and Stavropol regions, visit Samara, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, as well as the regions of the eastern part of Russia.
Direct electric trains from Lyubertsy, Shatura, Yegoryevsk, Voskresensk, Kolomna, Ramenskoye, Rybnoye, Kurovskoye, Zhukovsky and Ryazan depart from the Kazan station. This train station is one of the largest in Europe, with about 70 long-distance trains and about 200 pairs of electric trains departing every day.
The architects of the project were Shekhtel and Shchusev, who came up with the basic idea of construction. They decided that the station should be built in the traditions of Russian national architecture, with a high central tower surrounded by buildings of varying storeys and volumes.
Kazan Station (metro station "Komsomolskaya") - this is the greatest structure, which is facing the Komsomolskaya Square, Novoryazanskaya Street and Ryazan Passage by three facades. The main attraction of the building is the central tower, whose height reaches 73 meters, resembling the tower of the Kazan Kremlin. At its top is the figure of the serpent Zilant, the oldest symbol of Kazan.
Studying the sights of the capital, be sure to visit the Kazan station (metro station "Komsomolskaya").
