Pygmy Pekingese

The regal dog, a pygmy Pekingese, came to Europe in the sixties of the nineteenth century, when the Summer Palace was captured by the British in Peking. The five dogs, belonging to the Chinese emperor , were taken out of the female half of the palace. You can imagine the value of these trophies, if none of them, except the members of the ruling family, could have had in the house, and for the theft of such a dog it was realistic to get the death penalty.

Looking at this funny creature, which has a luxurious, mane-like mane, and a monkey's face, it's very difficult to believe that you are a representative of the dog's brotherhood, but it's really a dog - a pygmy Pekingese. The appearance of such a dog is so amazing and touching that it is very difficult to imagine how nature could have thought of creating such a beast.

Probably, without a magician there could not have been. It's not for nothing that the legend says that this creation is the fruit of the love of a lion and a beautiful monkey, for which the beloved king of beasts sacrificed his size. Soon this original couple was born - a pygmy Pekingese, small, but with a large and brave heart, the same as that of his ancestor. Although in fact, the story says that his ancestors are dogs from the breed "broad-chested that." During the reign of the dynasty of the Chinese emperors, Manchu, a new species of toia was introduced, which became known as the "dog-muffle", very quickly becoming an ornament for the court ladies. However, the fact that the dwarf Pekingese lived in silks and weasels does not at all mean that this is a pampered domestic creature with a "plush" temper. After all, this baby, inherited from his ancestor lion's heart, and therefore his character is independent and strong. And he has many other advantages: he is effective, very loyal and loyal to his master.

The pride of Pekingese, which has an increase to 22-23 centimeters, and weight to five kilograms - is his beautiful fur coat. It is necessary to regularly comb his hair, and when molting with a sponge remove the dead hair. To facilitate this process, you can use special talc or aerosol, which will help unravel the coils. It is also necessary from time to time to cut the wool of paralysis pads so that the dog is comfortable when walking.

Pekingese has a special structure of the face, because of which eye marks accumulate in the corners of the eyes and on the bridge of the nose, which must be washed every day with special solution. We should not forget about the dog's ears: they must be cleaned with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide.

Up to ten months of pygmy Pekingese are fed three to four times a day, and after this age - two feeding is enough. Experienced breeders know what to feed Pekingese can not - it's milk, pasta, bread, sweets and other sugar-containing food. However, cottage cheese and sour-milk products can not only be excluded, on the contrary, they should be given to dogs of this breed almost every day, throughout life. Delicacy for Pekingese can be fruit, honey or dried black bread.

An adult Pekingese a day must eat raw meat and fish, which make up a third of his daily allowance. Although if the master has no time to prepare dinner for his four-legged friend, then it is possible to do with ready-made dry food or canned canned food.

Pekingese diseases are very diverse, but the most common of them are: external parasites, eye diseases. Canine flea, sarcoporosis (zudge scabies), demodectic (iron), as well as internal parasites, the most dangerous for puppies of this breed, sometimes leading to even the death of a dog.

In hot weather, pygmy Pekingese must be protected from excessive overheating in the sun, and also from excessive overfatigue. He may begin to suffocate.
