This film is not just a description of one day in the life of a single woman. The plot is a collection of short stories. Before Rita's eyes, a young Georgian kidnaps the bride. A submarine sailor persuades his girlfriend to register a marriage, as already the next day he may be in the Far East.

Rita does not return home. She looks for Gavrilov, reflects on her fate, becomes a witness of important events in the life of random people. And gradually the character of Rita is revealed. This woman is lonely because she does not want to live with an unloved person, she does not know how to adapt. But meeting with Gavrilov for her is the last attempt to become happy. He appears in the final episode of the picture. Not alone, but accompanied by policemen. And Rita realizes that her "last attempt", fortunately, turned out to be successful.
