Membrane Jackets: Advantages, Disadvantages, Features of Care

Membrane jackets as a kind of winter clothes are truly irreplaceable. They are sewed from the appropriate fabric and are characterized by such properties as high heat resistance, lightness and water resistance. The products are good in that they allow your skin to breathe and sweat out, while not absorbing the liquid. Thus, in them you will not get wet and sweat.

Types of fabric

Membrane jackets can be made from a two-layer, three-layer and "two-to-half" layer material. In the first case, the fabric is taken as the basis of the product, on which a special membrane is applied from the inside. To protect against clogging and damage, a lining is used. Three-layer material consists of a "top", a membrane and a knitted mesh: all layers are glued together by a special technique - lamination. The last option is the most modern: the membrane fabric from the inside is covered with foamed protective coating - that's what plays the role of the third layer. Jackets from such a fabric are rightly considered to be the lightest and most durable.

Benefits

Membrane jackets have a number of advantages: firstly, they can be worn in any weather: wind, snow, rain - all this will not bother you. Secondly, they are suitable for all types of recreation - from calm to the most active. Slow walking, skiing and skating, running and even mountaineering - this garment is multifunctional. Membrane jackets are very comfortable, inflated, light. They drain out all evaporation of the body, without creating a "greenhouse effect", which happens, for example, when wearing raincoats.

disadvantages

Among the disadvantages can be called a rather high price for such clothes. Do not forget that it requires special care: for example, it is strictly prohibited to wash it in the car. In this case, products made from membrane tissue are relatively short-lived, and clothes for them need to choose a special, ideally - thermal underwear and fleece.

Features of care

Female membrane membranes, as a rule, are sewn from bright and rather marvelous fabrics. However, do not think that you can just put a thing in the washing machine and fill it with powder. Detergents of this kind can clog the membrane structure, and the jacket will lose all its properties. The same applies to the use of air conditioners and bleach. Carefully ensure that the powder does not contain chlorine: in this case, the membranes will begin to get wet. What to do? There are DWR-sprays designed specifically for cleaning such jackets. Another option is hand washing using liquid soap or shampoo. Membrane clothing should not be soaked and squeezed; The water temperature should not exceed 30-40 degrees. To remove excess moisture, it is recommended to use a towel or any other absorbent fabric. Membrane jackets for men and women are dried in a straightened form, laying on the floor or on the table. Iron products are also not recommended: high temperature has a negative impact on the tissue structure. The material must be periodically impregnated with special aerosols. The color of a thing can undergo minor changes.
