All over the world, traumatic weapons made in the image and likeness of combat models are very popular. This was also understood by Russian manufacturers, who in 2004 released several models of weapons for self-defense. All the copies were nicknamed in the people as "Makarych". Traumatic pistol was developed from scratch.
At the famous Makarov pistol, he took over only the appearance, and then not completely. The fighting mechanism was radically different from the original firearm. In addition, models with different calibers were produced. The decision to develop an entirely new means of self-defense on their own drawings, and not on the basis of a combat analogue, was made because of fears that "folk craftsmen" would rework the gun into a combat version.

All of them differ in many respects from each other, but the main difference is the diameter of the barrel - the caliber. So, the traumatic pistol "Makarych" IZH-79-7,6 uses shells 7,6 mm, IZH-79-8 and IZH-79-9 - 8- and 9-millimeter rounds respectively. The caliber of the MP-80-13T model is as much as 13 mm! But what caused this difference? The thing is that the larger the diameter of the trunk, the more effective the traumatic weapon becomes. The large area of contact of the rubber bullet with the body of the enemy completely eliminates the risk of tissue rupture and penetration of the projectile into the body. In addition, along with the caliber, the mass of the bullet increases, and, consequently, the impact energy.

Tactical and technical characteristics

The recharge mechanism operates according to the "free shutter" scheme. "Makarych" (traumatic pistol) model IZh-79-8 has the following technical characteristics:

In addition, the fastening of the barrel to the frame was intentionally weakened, and cuts were made on the breech block, so that when the shot was fired by a live ammunition the whole structure would shatter.

The main feature that each "Makarych" possesses, a traumatic pistol of the IZh-79-9 line, is the material of manufacture. The whole structure is entirely made of steel, which undoubtedly has a significant effect on the reliability and durability of products. In addition, the guns are easy to operate (they are not afraid of any weather conditions) and exploitation, because they require only periodic cleaning. The design of the traumatic pistol accurately repeats the device of the combat analog with some exceptions - in order to exclude the possibility of alteration into the firearm variant. The users noticed a number of shortcomings during use. The most significant of them can be called jamming of a rubber bullet in the trunk.

Tactical and technical characteristics

A large range of parts that are freely available in the market and make possible the tuning of the traumatic "Makarych" pistol is the main feature of the IZH-79-9 guns. Depending on the installed parts there are also technical characteristics of the models. The most common version of IL-79-9T has the following indicators:

• Overall dimensions - 161 x 93 x 127 mm;
• Caliber - 9 mm, cartridge type - 9 x 22;
• Mass without cartridges - 630 grams, with cartridges - 700 grams;

Despite its shortcomings and low power, this pistol has gained considerable popularity in the market. This happened under the influence of a low price (about 10 thousand rubles), which is very small for models made entirely of steel.

Powerful MR-80-13T

The main feature of the model MP-80-13T - traumatic pistol "Makarych" of 45 caliber, is the trunk. Its diameter is 13 millimeters, which, coupled with the capabilities of the cartridge, gives the weapon quite impressive tactical and technical indicators:

The specific power of the cartridge allows to render serious resistance to the attacker. At the same time, the bullet, because of its diameter of 13 mm, is not capable of breaking enemy tissue, leaving open wounds. The appearance of this "Makarych" (traumatic pistol) almost does not differ from the combat analogue. The only exception is the inscription on the left side of the shutter casing.
