Short biography of Ferruccio Lamborghini

Lamborghini was born in 1916 in an Italian village. He was a quiet boy, the son of a farmer. Ferruccio always spent time in his father's workshop. Father spent all his spare time on repairing rural machinery, as farming was the only way to earn money for the whole family. Rumors about the golden hands of Lamborghini spread all over Italy, as a result of which people from all over the country came to their father with requests for the repair of this or that technique.

Noticing Ferruccio's craving for technology and the desire to understand the arrangement of cars, his father gave him a place in his workshop. Over time, Ferruccio Lamborghini surpassed his father, and the elder turned to his son with requests for the repair of agricultural machinery.

Work in the workshop was not in vain for the young man. Having gained theoretical knowledge, and most importantly practical experience, the Italian goes to college, where he continues to learn craft. After graduation, Ferruccio sent to the service. After the army, a young specialist begins to think about his own business, which will be connected with cars. The young man did not want to just sell or collect cars, he wanted to occupy them with development and design.

The 30-ies of the last century just happened in the golden age for the development of motorsport. Young Lamborghini was in all these events like a fish in the water. He knew all the riders, all the sports cars, understood their devices and dreamed of their own development. But he did not immediately realize all his plans.

Circumstances against

All the plans collapsed at once because of the outbreak of World War II. In these difficult years for Europe and the world, Ferruccio was not at all until the construction of cars. After the war, Lamborghini was no longer the teenager who dreamed of a large company that produces steep and powerful sports cars.

However, he did not leave the dream of creating his own company. In 1947, Ferruccio opens the company Lamborghini Trattori SPA. The implementation was far from the creator's dreams and dreams. Instead of sports cars, the company was engaged in the production of tractors. An adult Ferruccio realized that in post-war Europe no one needed sports cars. It is necessary to raise agriculture. The release of their own tractors was an ideal option.

Gradually, the company's products became very high quality and the best in their industry. For 10 years of production of agricultural machinery, the Italian forgot about the dream of creating cars.

Vector change

In the early 60-ies Lamborghini Ferruccio began to think again about the opening of his own company to develop a car. Time period just had to change the profile of your own company. Italy recovered from the consequences of the war and was ready for further development, which was a place of luxury. And luxury includes car racing.

A year later, an automobile plant was built in Santa Agata. The first development of the company is the Lamborghini 350 GT. Despite the invested funds and forces, the car did not impress the public, as competitor from Ferrari did.

First difficulties

The design of the super-car was developed by the Touring studio. Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to end cooperation with these companies, accusing them of failing the first model of Lamborghini.

Ferruccio began working with Bertone, who created a new design for a supercar from scratch. This atelier designed a model for the company called Miura. The car was created from scratch in just 4 months and blew up the entire automotive industry.

Appearance looked quite unusual and fresh, compared to all competitors in the face of Ferrari. In the Miura was installed 370-strong unit with a maximum speed of 274 km / h. Two years later, the company released a version of S, which brought Lamborghini to a mark of 300 km / h, which at that time was unattainable.

Countach and Diablo

Ferruccio Lamborghini, whose biography is full of ups and downs, began to create a new car in 1971. At the same time, the company celebrated its 10th anniversary. At the Geneva Motor Show , the Countach model appeared. This moment can be called a turning point in the whole sphere of supercars of that time. In many ways, this model has influenced the current situation of the market for expensive supercars.

In terms of design Countach seemed something completely new and unlike all other cars. However, according to the technical characteristics of Ferruccio and could not outdo the last car. The new sports car did not pass the 300 km / h mark. He did not have only 10 km / h to an absolute record.

In the series production Countach appeared in 1974. On the conveyor the car lasted until the early 90's. After that, the model was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest production car. It would seem that Ferruccio's dream is fulfilled - a large automotive concern that creates the world's fastest cars and unusual in terms of design, which is ahead of time for several years ahead. But for the embodiment of this dream, the Italian had a whole life. Model Diablo Ferruccio was already in his old age. It was this car that was the last one that the creator of the company personally released. And it was Diablo who managed to overcome the mark of 300 km / h on the speedometer.

Hidden problems

Despite such a great success, the biography of Ferruccio Lamborghini knew bad times. During the development and release of Countach, the firm experienced financial difficulties. In connection with these companies was first sold to the American concern Chrysler, after which Lamborgini was bought by the Indian company Megatech.

Only after the founder's death the company gained financial stability and a patron in the person of AUDI AG. Thus, the brand returned to the homeland, to the European region.

From tractors to supercars

Many believe that it is impossible to repeat the success of Lamborghini. And indeed, such stories are very rare. When a small company for the production of tractors grows into a major automotive concern. Plus, everything happens, the dream of Ferruccio, to which he went all his life. The last model under his leadership was Diablo. Ferruccio Lamborghini died in 1996.
