Islands of Spain

Spain is a mysterious and beautiful country. It attracts not only a warm and mild climate, but also its fascinating history, which started back in time immemorial. Thousands of tourists annually rest in Spain. In addition to the stunningly beautiful nature and architectural monuments, this country has a developed tourist infrastructure. Along with the resorts, located mainly on the coast, Spain also has a group of islands: the Balearic and Canary. The bright sun and endless sandy beaches await you on any of them.

The islands of Spain have always been popular among those wishing to have a good rest. The tourist season usually starts in April and ends in October.

Among the Balearic Islands, the largest and most famous is Majorca. The nature here is diverse and rich. An interesting feature of it is the lack of rivers. The only source of water is artificial reservoirs and springs. Despite this, in the territory of Mallorca there are about 40 nature reserves. Endless green valleys, pine forests, oak groves provide an unforgettable vacation.

Mallorca, like many other islands in Spain, boasts its history and the most interesting buildings that have been preserved since ancient times. One of them is a medieval monastery, located in the west in the village of Valdemosa.

The capital of Mallorca is the city of Palma de Mallorca. Antique cathedrals and mansions can be seen in the historical center. Together with winding, narrow streets they help to feel and understand the life of the indigenous Spaniards.

The largest island in the Mediterranean after Mallorca is Tenerife. Tourists who have chosen Spain as a place for annual rest, often go here.

Tenerife belongs to the Canary Islands group and (like all of them) has a volcanic origin. The highest point is Teide volcano. For seafarers, he is an excellent landmark, as well seen from afar.

The peculiarities of this island of Spain include an incredible contrast between the south and the north. In the south it is always very sunny and dry, and in the north, on the contrary, it is wet. Thanks to this variety, you can always enjoy magnificent scenery here. A huge number of the most outlandish plants made the island a true nature reserve. More than 1,000 plant species that can be seen on Tenerife do not grow anywhere else on Earth. Those who are afraid of poisonous insects and snakes can safely go to these places. The island is absolutely safe and none of the representatives of the local fauna will do you harm.

For those who prefer silence and seclusion, the northern part of the island can not be better. A small number of hotels and a low population density contributes to unity with nature and recreation.

The islands of Spain are great for young people. A lot of clubs, discos and other entertainment centers are in the south of Tenerife. Endless beaches and high-class hotels are also designed for families. There are special children's centers and mini-clubs.

Local people are very friendly towards tourists. If you do not want to book excursions, then by contacting them, you will always find out what to see in Tenerife first.

The small town of Candelaria is one of the most important religious centers on the island. Thousands of pilgrims come to the city's Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Candelaria every year. In the interior of the island is the city of Guimar, next to which are the famous pyramids of gouache. Carefully built and hewn stone, stepped pyramids are very similar to those that were built by the ancient Incas. These amazing structures to this day arouse the interest of many scientists trying to unravel the secrets of their creation.
