International airports of Montenegro and air terminals of local importance
Which international airports in Montenegro are suitable for flying from Russia? Are there air terminals of local importance here? Let's consider the available airports in Montenegro, the list of the best aviation harbors in the country.
Tivat Airport
Montenegro's airport Tivat has a single terminal, which covers an area of as much as 4,057 m 2 . It accommodates 11 racks, where passengers are informed and registered. In the immediate vicinity is one of the largest runways in the country, the length of which is 2.5 km.
The main flow of passengers in the summer is sent here on the route Moscow - Tivat. With the beginning of the holiday season there is also an influx of tourists from other CIS countries. During this period, the terminal moves to the operating mode from 7 am to dusk. As for the functioning of the airport in winter time, a clear schedule is set for this time of the year - from 7 am to 4 pm. To be in time to fly from Tivat, it is recommended to arrive here a few hours before the desired time of departure.
Airport in Podgorica
Throughout the year, about one million passengers pass through this airport. Thanks to the well-developed infrastructure, the represented aviation harbor has the status of one of the best small air terminals in the world.
Serves the airport in Podgorica not only international flights, but also provides flights within the country. It is most convenient to get to such famous resort towns as Budva and Cetinje.
In 2006, the terminal was reorganized. Since the old terminal could no longer cope with increased passenger traffic, a new, more capacious complex was opened here. Its total area was more than 5000 m 2 . In the new terminal there were organized numerous catering establishments, reference centers, trading platforms.
At the exit of the new terminal there are bus stops, from where for an amount of only 2.5 euros you can easily get to the capital. Taxis in the same direction will cost around 15 euros.
Unlike Tivat, the airport in Podgorica serves passengers around the clock. However, in order to catch a flight, it is worthwhile to come here at least an hour and a half before the planned landing.
Dolac Airport
The above-mentioned airport is located 1 km from the resort town of Berane. As it became already clear, the presented point serves exclusively liners, which serve for transportation of passengers inside the country.
The airport does not boast of a highly developed infrastructure. However, this is not required here, because the local terminal looks to most passengers only a small transfer point, which facilitates the trip to the resort.
To be able to check in for a flight from Dolac airport, it's better to arrive here 2 hours before the proposed departure. In this case, you will need to present a ticket and passport. In cases where a passenger purchases an electronic ticket, they will only need to have an identity card with them.
Zabljak airport
Herceg Novi Airport
This airport, like the previous two, is of local importance. It is located about 5 kilometers from the village with a similar name.
The present airport terminal deserves the attention of travelers only for one reason. The fact is that many buses run from here daily towards one of the best resorts of the country - Dubrovnik. Therefore, it is recommended to buy tickets to Herceg Novi for all those who do not want to spend time on long journeys inside the country by bus or car.
Finally
Apparently, travelers who go to the resorts are not only available to international airports in Montenegro. You can also travel within the country using the services of local airlines. The latter option contributes to significant time savings, which is better spent on rest and sightseeing.
