How to choose a motorcycle trailer?

Transportation of a motorcycle often delivers to owners a lot of problems. If an ATV and a bike with a sidecar can still be hooked on a cable, then this option is not suitable for a single mototechnic. In this case, only the trailer for the transport of a motorcycle can help.

Trailers for the transportation of motorcycles meet a variety of designs, from branded, equipped with fasteners, and ending with self-made, sometimes a miracle of engineering. However, in any case, the basis of the design is a platform mounted on the wheels. A brand trailer for a motorcycle can have in the kit a different set of fasteners, awning, folding gangway and other additions. Homemade devices in most cases represent an ordinary wooden or metal platform, located on an axis with wheels.

On trailers you can transport all kinds of motor vehicles. But in order to deliver expensive sports motorcycles to their destination, the transportation platform must be equipped with special devices. They make it possible to make transportation of equipment more convenient and safe in terms of safety of the vehicle. The following equipment is installed on the motorcycle transport trailer:
1. Trough-stand. It is installed in the trailer. It serves as a guide for placing the motorcycle on the platform.
2. Gutter gutter. It is needed to roll motorcycles into the trailer.
3. Supporting posts. They are attached to the "stern" of the trailer and prevent the structure from tipping over during loading.
4. Screws and fastening straps. The motorcycle is fixed on the platform.
Note: The ATV trailer must be equipped with two gangway gutters.

Before installing additional equipment on the trailer, you need to perform a number of necessary operations, namely:
• Secure the vehicle with a hand brake.
• Place underneath the wheels of the trailer the chocks. This will prevent the spontaneous movement of the structure when loading a motorcycle.
• Install the rear support posts on the rear of the trailer and secure.

Fastening of the rear pillars is made by the special parts - a trapezoid and a collar. The process of fastening racks is carried out in the following order:
1. Racks are fixed near the rear panel of the trailer.
2. The collar is lowered and the rack extends to the stop.
3. The clamp is tightened.

To immerse the motor technics on the trailer for the transport of a motorcycle, it is necessary to open completely the rear side of the trailer. Then, mount and fix the motorcycle stand to the bottom of the trailer. Fastening is made by means of bolts. After this, a gangway is installed. On the chute the bike is driven to the trailer to the stop. Fastening straps-screeds motorcycle firmly fixed in the body. For this purpose, special loops are provided in the lodgment. The loading is complete. Now the gangway is removed and placed in a trailer for the transport of a motorcycle. It will be needed when unloading.

Note: in order to secure the stands under the motorcycle, you need to drill the required number of holes in the bottom of the trailer in advance. Their number depends on the amount of transported equipment. Loading ATVs in the same way, only instead of one gangway on the back board fixed two.
