How Not to Become a Victim of Mosquitoes On Rest Beyond the Border

Surely you often heard from people who came back from abroad, how their personal belongings disappeared on the trip. Someone stole a purse, someone "rented" the car. Here we give examples of fraud, most often committed in relation to tourists.
1. Taxi drivers - scams
The first thing that strikes the new tourist when leaving the airport is the good nature of the local taxi drivers. They meet tourists with smiles and promises to give you a lift at a lower price than other taxi drivers. The deception lies in the following. On the way the taxi driver will tell you that today there are a lot of accidents, or that there are long traffic jams on the short road and will take you by bypasses, thus extending the way.
In order to identify the fraudster, be sure to check the price list, it should be for every taxi driver. If the price list for the driver was not, it is better not to get into this taxi. When ordering a taxi to the hotel, use the concierge services, which will cause for you a trusted driver.
2. Car for hire
If you decide to rent a car yourself, the first thing you should pay attention to is that the numbers are local. Do not also trust the "benevolent" passers-by who want to inform you that your wheel has been run down , etc. And when you go out to check the wheel, scammers just take out of the car everything that lies on the seats: a bag, a purse, etc.
3. Currency exchange
One of the most common types of fraud abroad. This method implies a lack of patience in the tourist when the cashier recounts money in the exchange office. Suddenly you are in a hurry, and take the money, not counting. Often tourists exchange currency on the black market, thinking that there is a more profitable course. The result can be fake bills. Therefore, it is better to change the currency in the checked points, without forgetting to recalculate it.
4. "Good people"
Try not to fall for the trick of "good people" who offer you services for your payment. For example, help in obtaining money from the ATM, or parking your car. From such "services" it is better to politely refuse.
5. Distracted attention
When you are distracted, you are not protected. While your attention is focused on a distracting "moment", whether it's the abuse of two people, a beggar or someone's faint, your wallet can get to pickpockets.
6. The pseudo-police officer
Ignorance of what the form of local policemen looks like can play a cruel joke with you. You can be stopped by a fraudster, disguised as a police officer, and demand that you check your money for fake banknotes. Once you open your wallet, the thief grabs cash from it and disappears. The correct way out of this situation is to demand a police certificate.
7. "Cunningly" located restaurant
Often, in the process of shopping and sightseeing, you notice that you are very hungry. After leaving the place of visit, you see the restaurant and immediately rush there in the hope of satisfying the hunger. The result of such impatience is a large overpayment for food, caused by the "successful" arrangement of the restaurant. Basically, the farther the cafe or restaurant from places of congestion of tourists, the cheaper prices there are.
8. Warning signs
At the stations you can see signs saying something like: "Beware of pickpockets!". Having noticed such a sign, you, having succumbed to the instinct, check the place where your wallet lies. The result - you show scammers where to store it. To protect yourself, carry the wallet in the "secret" pocket, or in the bag adjacent to the body.
9. Doubtful places to stay
Sometimes the following situation occurs. A stranger approaches you and offers a comfortable place to stay overnight for a small price. Condition - payment ahead. Already on the spot, you find a doss house for homeless people, located far from the center ... but the money has already been paid. To avoid this, book a place to stay in advance, mainly through a travel agency or a verified tourist website.
