How has nature changed during the time of human existence. The harmful effects of human activity

Our planet is our home. It provides man with food, heat, and resources. It has everything that is necessary for a full life. But human activity is a destructive force that leads to global disturbances of the world around us. Today, with an unaided eye, one can see how nature has changed during human existence, because the consequences affect the quality of life of the people themselves , the environment, the animal and plant world.

Why go into the problem

It is known that in order to solve the problem, one must understand the root of the problem. This principle is also effective, in this case, it is important to prevent pollution of the planet, and not to eliminate the consequences. If there is no source that destroys the ecology, our Earth will be able to recover. But, in order for the actions to produce a result, we first need to study how nature has changed over the course of human existence and what factors have disturbed the balance of the ecosystem.

Varieties of influence

The human impact on nature can be deliberate. In this case, mass deforestation is carried out to meet the needs of the society , hydraulic engineering and other structures are being built or resources are being extracted to the detriment of nature.

In addition, harm can be caused unintentionally, for example, the developed places for resource extraction are formed into technogenic forms of relief, and the processing of resources leads to pollution of the atmosphere.

Also, the natural world suffers from the indirect and direct influence of man. From the irrigation of fertilizers of whole fields in the soil there are negative changes (direct effect). The broken chains of metabolic processes entail further disruptions in the ecosystem (indirect).

Bad influence

The impact of people's activities on the biosphere is significant, because of this influence our world has become as we know it today. We can note several negative aspects of how nature has changed during the time of human existence:

  • Many forest zones disappeared. The main role of trees is "struggle" with carbon dioxide. Due to this property, trees should soften the climate, but as the forests grow smaller, the weather around the world has changed noticeably. In addition, mountain slopes that have been left without trees are doomed to erosion, which leads to landslides.
  • The water of the earth, its atmosphere, and the surrounding nature are polluted.
  • Soil depletion. To increase the yield of fields, chemicals and pesticides are used, which take away the last useful minerals from the earth. So that the soil can restore the lost balance, it takes tens of years.
  • Many species of flora and fauna disappeared. People's activities have changed the ecosystem to which some species have not been able to adapt. Others were destroyed by man. Also, many animals suffered from the indirect influence of people's activities. Thus, the natural world was prone to deforestation due to increased human needs, causing many fauna species to lose their natural habitat and perish.
  • The depletion of resources that have been formed for millions of years. Unprecedented rates of production of coal, oil and other deposits lead to the fact that after 100 years, humanity will remain without these vitally important minerals.

Reservoirs, oceans

This, of course, is not the whole list of examples of how nature has changed during the time of human existence. Almost all rivers that pass by cities are subject to fatal contamination. Also, do not forget about the oil that constantly gets into the water. Just one drop makes 25 liters of water unsuitable, and tons of oil constantly fall into the oceans.

In addition, every year mankind throws tons of garbage, which is dominated by plastic. Ultimately, most wastes that are not able to decompose into trace elements find their "peace" in the world's oceans. Many already know about the "dead zone", which is located in the Pacific Ocean. This is a garbage that floats on the surface of the water and occupies a vast territory. Every year, the "dead zone" is replenished with tons of fresh debris. From the height of the helicopter this "dump" resembles a large island. Such floating garbage does not allow light and air to reach marine life. Some species can not find a new home and perish.
