How can you perform an immersion stamp yourself

The phrase "immersion seal" is not widely known to anyone, but the word "tuning" is known to all motorists. What is there in common between them? Let's understand.

What is aquapark used for?

Tuning cars (from English tuning - "tuning") involves changing the appearance, decorating individual elements. Finishing can be done in different ways, including using the immersion printing method.

If we consider that the army of motorists is constantly growing, regularly updating their personal fleets, it is not surprising that the interest to aquaprint increases.

A specific process allows you to transfer the desired pattern to the surface of any shape, even having a lot of bends. Because of the property to paint volumetric surfaces, decorating with aquaparks is referred to as 3D technology.

The principle of water-soluble printing

The technology of immersion printing implies the possibility of applying to any smooth surface a special texture film that dissolves in water. Therefore, it is also called a hydrographic seal.

To find out whether it is possible to produce an immersion seal with your own hands, you must first understand the principle of its operation. The main material is a special WTP-film, on which a certain multicolored pattern is applied industrially.

There are a lot of variants of graphic coatings. It can be an imitation of the surface of stone, metal, ceramics, various types of wood, animal skins or fur. Also popular are the drawings that create the illusion of carbon fiber (carbon), military camouflage. Beautiful prints with plants, flowers, fruits or fantasy drawings look.

Equipment for aquaprint

The process of hydrographic coating does not look laborious, any person is quite capable of making an immersion seal with his own hands. The procedure for applying the aquaprint is carried out in a rectangular metal bath equipped with heating elements and automation, which constantly maintains a certain water temperature. For work still need a spray gun and chemical protection equipment (respirator, overalls, gloves).

Today, a wide use has been made of compact semi-automatic equipment, which can be bought inexpensively and installed in a small room.

Stages of the technological process

Having all the necessary materials available, you can start making immersion prints with your own hands. The product to be decorated must first be treated with abrasive material in order to smooth out the surface as much as possible. After that, degrease and cover with a thin layer of soil with a spray gun. As a result, we get a substrate layer on which the hydrographic layer will lie.

Cutting off the necessary piece of decorative film, you need to carefully place it on the surface of the water matte side down. After waiting for no more than two minutes, you need to spray the solvent layer evenly. As a result of the chemical reaction, the film softens. The paint completely dissolves in water, but does not mix with it, but remains in the form of a thin slurry layer.

The product to be stained should be carefully immersed in the liquid vertically so that it completely moistens it. The molten film gently and evenly envelops the entire working surface. Several times shaking the part in the water, you can get rid of unnecessary remnants.

Performing an immersion seal with your own hands, you need to act carefully and methodically, avoiding sudden movements. The painted surface should be thoroughly rinsed under a stream of water, and then dried using compressed air. The last step is applying a protective layer of lacquer.

Aqua immersion printing, made by yourself, allows you to decorate various surfaces, creating a unique design. The advantage of aquaprint can also be considered its low cost, practicality and durability.
