Gypsum blocks: types, features, technical characteristics

Economically beneficial materials have always been interesting to builders. Their use reduces labor intensity and cost. At present, a lot of materials are used, which are cheaper than the usual products, and their use makes it possible to significantly accelerate the rate of erection of building structures. These include gypsum blocks.

Advantages of gypsum products

The best example of the advantage of using blocks from gypsum is the following example: 20 red bricks of a single species or 14 silicate products can be replaced with just one slab. If the brick surface is subsequently to be plastered, which is not at all cheap, the wall made of gypsum blocks is almost ready for finishing - painting, wallpapering. It is only necessary to seal the seams and polish them. Another advantage of using gypsum products is an increase in the speed of installation and its simplicity.

Thanks to this, it is possible to build partitions of any type:

  • Single.
  • Double.
  • Figured.

The low weight of products, their ecological compatibility, the ability to use in any premises make gypsum blocks an indispensable material for the construction of new or repair of existing structures. Another important advantage that a gypsum block has is price. Depending on the region and the manufacturer, the cost of one product ranges from 165 to 197 rubles.

General information

Gypsum is the main material from which plates are made. Why this particular material was chosen to produce products that are so necessary for the construction industry? This was facilitated by important, from the point of view of economy, ecology and safety, properties:

  • Fire resistance.
  • Absence of toxic components.
  • Dielectric characteristics.
  • Acidity similar to the acidity of the human body.
  • High gas and vapor permeability.
  • Lack of smell.

Pazogrebnevye blocks - a monolithic products of building gypsum. They have the form of a parallelepiped and are characterized by very accurate dimensional parameters. In the production process for the production of structures, natural gypsum is subjected to low-temperature processing.

The usual products are produced and are able to withstand moisture. In order to obtain a moisture-resistant product, the hydrophobic components are introduced into the molding material, thereby significantly reducing the moisture-absorbing properties of the articles.

Despite the use of additives, moisture resistant products in all respects do not differ from usual - it also "breathes", has ecological purity and has the same properties, but it perfectly resists moisture. And all because additives are portland cement and blast furnace slag in granules - environmentally friendly materials. To distinguish moisture-resistant gypsum blocks from conventional products, they are painted during manufacture in a light green color.

Application area

Used gypsum blocks for partitions and erection of non-curtain walls. Since the goods come in different thicknesses, they can be selected for use in the construction of any structure:

  • Housing;
  • Constructions of industrial type;
  • Public buildings;
  • Constructions of other purpose (warehouses, storehouses, etc.)
  • Medical institutions;
  • Kindergartens, schools.

The type of products (single or double) depends on the regulatory requirements for sound and vapor insulation to a particular facility or the need to place communications within the wall structures.

Specifications

Regardless of the type, both conventional and moisture resistant paddock blocks have almost identical characteristics:

  • Dimensions - 8h50h66, 7,7 cm. Possible deviations from the dimensions - 0,5х1,0х1,5 mm.
  • The weight of the plate is 27 kg.
  • The square meter of the partition weighs about 82 kg.
  • Radiation indices are class "A".
  • Spread of fire within 0,0 m.
  • Water absorption: conventional - 23-25%, waterproof - no more than 5%.
  • The compressive strength is 4.4 MPa.
  • 1000. Density (in kg per 1 cubic meter) is 1000.

For convenience of storage and transportation, gypsum blocks are packaged in packages of 15 plates. Then they are placed on wooden pallets, 2 packages each. The product packed in this way has a height of 1 m and weighs 870 kg together with a pallet. To leave the products for storage, it is necessary to lay them on the edge. The height of the stack should not exceed 1.5 m, so that the products are not deformed, otherwise it will lead to a loss of both external indicators and strength.
