When our intestines digest food, then in the process gases accumulate in it, leaving in small portions through the anus. Where do they come from?

  1. Together with food, we swallow a certain amount of air. Chewing "gum" and smoking, too, provoke excessive ingestion of air.
  2. When digestive juices interact with each other (and with water), carbon dioxide is formed, hence the anal bunches.
  3. There are various useful microorganisms (bacteria) in our large intestine. Gases are the result of their life activity.
  4. If a person suffers lactose intolerance, frequent farts can be provoked by dairy products.
