Finishing works or how to putty right

The question of whether it is worth plastering plasterboard is controversial, and the opinions of people on this issue are divided almost equally. Some believe that plasterboard putty is a waste of time and money, it is enough just to fill in the seams and protruding screws. Some believe that the putty helps to create the same conditions on the whole surface of the drywall for wallpapering, as all irregularities and damages will be eliminated.

Specialists are advised to make plasterboard plaster on walls and ceiling. So how to putty right, where to start the finishing work?

For walls made from a material such as plasterboard, the finishing work begins with the puttying of the seams formed between the sheets. For this purpose, a special putty dry mix, designed specifically for these purposes, as well as a roll of PVC mesh, is suitable. Before you start the puttying of walls, you must:

- prepare the filler and fill it with seams;

- Apply a PVC net to the seam, somewhat drowning it with a spatula into the putty, but the grid must be above the level of the drywall sheet. The higher it is, the less cracks appear;

- You can cut the paper layer of gypsum board and remove it in order to cover the seam with a net.

It is necessary to know not only how to putty plasterboard, but also how to seal and align the seams between the sheets. Careful and careful alignment of the joints ensures a flat surface of the sheets, the putty in this case compensates for all the flaws in the surface of the plasterboard, so when painting such surfaces there is no danger that the paint will show all its roughness. The surface of gypsum boards becomes smooth only after repeated application of the putty and further grinding on it. It should be remembered that the quality of the finish of walls and ceiling from gypsum board depends on how the seams are properly sealed.

After sealing the seams, it is necessary to prepare the surface for the main plaster. To do this, you need to inspect the surface and tighten the screws if they are not completely twisted. Various dents or scratches must be puttied before making full surface plastering. For deep defects, the putty is applied until the layer is at the same level as the sheet. Knowing how to properly putty, you can quickly eliminate all the existing shortcomings on the surface of gypsum board.

Next, it is necessary to primer the entire surface of the gypsum board, including all seams, joints and corners, as well as the places where the screws were screwed. Primer in this case it is better to use high-quality to avoid the appearance of cracks at the seams. After completing the primer, it is recommended to apply one more layer of putty on the surface.

Many people are wondering how to properly coat the surface for painting. To do this, it is necessary to seal the seams with a special putty, for example, the company "Knauf" in the same way as described above.

It is necessary to know how to properly putty the ceiling, as plasterboard putty is performed, starting from the ceiling. The finished mixture should be applied to the seams with a PVC mesh glued on them and spread over a width slightly wider than the seam. After the plaster has dried, the surface is leveled and ground with a special fine emery paper, then the surface is ground and any decorative coating is applied.

Thus, knowing how to properly putty, you can give the walls and ceiling of plasterboard a lot of positive characteristics. So, for example, you can achieve the same surface structure, eliminate all defects and defects, prepare the surface for painting or wallpapering. And most importantly, puttying drywall is not difficult, because its surface itself is smooth.
