A bit of history

When the powder was invented, it is not known exactly, there are a lot of versions and assumptions. However, the first surviving manuscript, in which the mention of this explosive substance occurs, dates from 1044 AD. Initially, gunpowder was used as a filling for fireworks and other entertainment tricks. But already at the beginning of the 12th century he was used in guns, and a little later an explosive device appeared. True, in modern explosives powder is rarely used, replaced by more powerful substances.

According to the dictionary, this is a material and technical scheme, which contains a chemical explosive and means of detonation. For obvious reasons, it is a one-off action. But what happens, what is needed and how to make an explosive device?

Army

First of all, the army needs the VU. Such devices are necessary mainly to destroy the enemy, equipment, structures and sabotage.

In the armed forces, TNT is used as the main material for explosive devices. Distinctive features of this substance: high power, ease of handling and, most importantly, stability. It can be dropped, beaten, even thrown into the fire, it will simply burn without any danger to others. It explodes only from detonation, in other words, from another small explosion. The explosive device on its basis usually looks like a trinitrotoluene bar with an inserted fuse.

An interesting fact: during the Great Patriotic War, Soviet partisans, who experienced acute shortages in the material for mines, collected unexploded ordnance and melted them of TNT, which became uniform, evenly and gradually, on a water bath.

MES

Another area where explosives and explosives are used is the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Basically, they are needed to provoke the avalanche (in order to defuse the snow mass in advance), clearing up the debris after natural disasters or disposing of ammunition found in the ground. From the old age, the latter can detonate from any impact, so they sometimes have to destroy them on the spot.

An interesting fact: sometimes oil or gas fields are ignited, and the flame, constantly fueled by a "fountain" from the depths of the earth, is so strong that it can not be extinguished by the usual means. Then next to him lay a bomb, which explodes with a blast wave of fire. And once such a "torch" burned for three years, and it was only possible to extinguish it with a nuclear bomb. It happened in 1963 in Uzbekistan.

Building and demolition of buildings

Some old buildings or structures are much more profitable, faster and easier to destroy by explosion, than to spend time on gradual dismantling. In this case, the energy of explosions comes to the rescue again.

Also, dynamite (nitroglycerin-based explosives) was used at the end of the 19th century for the construction of railways and canals. They were destroyed by large stones and other obstacles. Currently, this method is also used.

Homemade explosive devices

The need for such an artisanal device will be needed in different situations, for example, during hostilities. But still it is worth remembering: their manufacture is punishable by law. If you made a simple powder firecracker and decided to blow up entertainment for the sake of, you already broke the law. The only explosive that can be purchased legally is smoky and smokeless powder, but only with a license for hunting weapons.

If their turnover is banned, then why do they use improvised explosive devices? The device so often becomes an instrument of killing various terrorists and intruders.
