The actor was born in Melbourne (Australia) on August 9, 1968 in the family of a logistics manager and hairdresser, and is of German-Croat origin. Bana is an abbreviation from the real name of Eric - Banadinovich. Three years after the successful performance on television, the actor acquired his own TV show and even won the Logie Award as the best comedian.

The debut in the movie took place in 1997 in the movie "Castle", followed by the tape "A View from the inside" (2000), based on the autobiographical book of the Australian criminal. For the main role in the thriller Bana has received positive assessments of critics.
