Chris Isaac: Biography and Creativity

Chris Isaak (Chris Isaak) was born in Stockton (California) on June 26, 1956. In 1980, Isaac graduated from the University of Stockholm and placed a diploma in the farthest drawer of the desk, as it turned out - forever. Even while studying, Chris Isaac, whose biography was already ready for change, began to actively participate in the creation of the rock band Silvertone, which soon took the form of an ordinary quartet: guitar solo, slide guitar, bass guitar and percussion instruments. Later in the composition added an organ for background tracking. The musicians bet on the perfect sound of all stringed instruments. The purity of the guitar parts, with mandatory inclusions of light glissando, made Silvertone's music charming, if not hypnotic. Good arrangement immediately became a "trademark" sign of the band, all instruments sounded extremely harmonious and organically supplemented each other. Many musical groups suffer from lack of solidarity, the reason for this lies not so much in musical differences as in psychological ones. Mutual misunderstanding ends with the change of composition, the departure of some musicians and the arrival of others. Permanent rotation does not benefit the common cause. In the group Silvertone, fortunately, all the musicians remained in their places, and full mutual understanding was the key to success.

Silvertone

Vocal abilities of Chris Isaak allowed to include in the repertoire the most complicated ballads, the possibilities of Silvertone seemed unlimited. A good example is the composition Wicked Game, which strikes its minor lyricism: musicians do not play - they live a melody. Hardly audible backing vocals make the composition more voluminous. Drummer Kenny Dale, we must give him his due, subtly feels his role, he does not knock, but accompanies the song with restraint and tact. Although sometimes, in other arrangements, his drums dominate hard and "bluesy", as happens, for example, in the song Lovely With A Broken Heart.

Chris and Elvis

Chris Isaac often compares himself with Elvis Presley and tries to imitate him. This analogy can be taken with some stretch, simply because Presley is inaccessible, and any comparison with him looks incorrect. However, Chris himself, without any comparison, is a great singer and composer. He has a strong, expressive voice, not wide, but quite ample for the performance of hits, a range. The first album of Isaac and his band was recorded in 1985 on Warner Bros. Records under the name Silvertone. Neither the album, nor the band itself had been untwisted by that time, so the disc was sold slowly. This upset the musicians, but nevertheless they continued to work. Guitarist James Kelvin Wilsi, bass player Roland Sally, drummer Kenny Dale, sat up late, practicing chords, painting the parts for each instrument and methodically achieving complete harmony.

Billboard 200

Two years later, a second disc called Chris Isaak was released, which was soon included on the Billboard-200. And although the album took only 194th line, his very participation in such a prestigious list spoke volumes. I must say that all the songs of "Chris Isaac" turned out to be like a selection of romantic, with a touch of melancholy. The hit in the album was just one - the Blue Hotel, but this one song was enough to make sales grow several times compared to the Silvertone CD. Chris Isaac suddenly became a popular singer. It remained to consolidate the success, and the musicians engaged in new compositions, which were to be included in the next collection, favorably different from the previous one.

The long-awaited success

Chris' next album, Heart Shaped World, was a real breakthrough, his sales increased dramatically compared to the previous two discs. In 1996, Heart Shaped World was marked by the multi-platinum status of RIAA, which is given for circulation exceeding 2,000,000 copies sold. However, before the triumph was still far away, and meanwhile, the studio Warner Bros.. Records decided to suspend its cooperation with Chris Isaac due to lack of commercial return. The situation was saved by the fact that film director David Lynch included the song Wicked Game in the soundtrack of his film Wild at Heart.

Confession

The year 1991 passed for the singer under the sign of universal recognition. Chris Isaac, whose photo began to appear on the covers of glossy magazines, initiated the re-release of his songs. The newly printed album of 1989 was called Wicked Game and was sold as hotcakes, not only in America, but also in England. The rest of the albums were reprinted using the same update scheme. Isaac received an international award for rock and roll music "The Best Vocalist of the Year", and the Wicked Game was recognized as the best video of the year.

Now the musician was able to produce albums that advertised themselves and were expected by the public. Chris Isaac is a singer who is constantly improving. His discography includes 11 albums released between 1985 and 2011:

Before choosing

Cinema projects took Chris all his time, and at some point he began to complain that he is moving away from his main occupation, ceases to be a singer and composer. There is also an analogy with Elvis Presley, who in his time starred in 30 senseless films. According to Elvis, it was spent an insane amount of time for empty films with kisses. Chris Isaac had everything the same, with the only difference being that he did not have to kiss, and the roles were insignificant.
