Car Nissan Almera N15

In 1995, the Japanese company "Nissan" introduced its new model - Almera N15. It happened in the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its predecessor was a Nissan-Sunny car. The model appeared on the markets in the same year. Three years later, the car was restyled. The release continued until 2000, until the new generation "Almere" replaced it.

Features of cars

Nissan Almera N15 belongs to the "C" class. It was produced in three body styles ":

  • Sedan.
  • Hatchback with three doors.
  • Hatchback with five doors.

Depending on the type of body, the dimensions of the car were:

  • Soft suspension.
  • Good dynamics.
  • Repairability. Repair Nissan Almera N15 is not a big problem due to the availability of spare parts.

Among the shortcomings can be identified weak lighting optics, low ground clearance and poor sound insulation.

Technical components

On Nissan Almera N15 the engine was installed with two variants of fuel: gasoline and diesel.

In the first case the power units had power from 1.4 to 2.0 liters. They produced power from 75 to 143 horsepower. The value of the torque varied between 116-178 Nm.

The diesel engine was offered only in one version. And he definitely had a turbo. He was with a two-liter capacity and a capacity of seventy-five horsepower at a torque of 132 Nm.

All models of cars are front-wheel drive. The transmission was offered at a choice of five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

The brake system is disk. Front suspension spring type. Rear - semi-independent, performed on the so-called Scott-Russell system. It is a combination of the stabilizer and the beam, which is located on the longitudinal arms.

Models of the first stage

The first stage included the period from 1995 to 1998, that is, the period before restyling. In addition to the basic equipment, there were other options for equipping the car. Their functions were supplemented separately and could be installed at will and choice of the buyer.

So, models with the gasoline engine of 1,4 liters on a forward bumper had antifog headlights. Aerodynamics and appearance were improved due to the rear spoiler. Since 1996, it has become possible to install cast discs with a diameter of fourteen inches. The same size of the wheels were 1.6-liter models.

Models with a diesel turbocharged two-liter engine were put on cast discs with a diameter of fifteen inches. On the rear spoiler an integrated light was installed, repeating the brake lights. In addition, the turbocharged models had a more "aggressive" appearance. This was achieved due to the overlays on the side skirts and splitters (as in the "BMW"). There were models without such improvements. They installed more simple splitters made of plastic. According to technical characteristics, diesel models differed by a higher suspension and an accelerated steering rack.

Restyled models

In 1998, restyled models Almera N15. These models differed in the shape of the front bumper. All models were equipped with front splitters, an integrated brake lighting the spoiler.

The turbocharged models already had a body kit in a circle. If desired, the buyer could completely abandon the body kit.

In 2000, the second generation Almera N16 came to replace the Nissan Almera N15.
