'Cameton' preparation: instructions for use

The medicine "Cameton" is produced in the form of a spray intended for topical application in ENT practice. In one bottle (20 g) of the drug contains an emulsion, which includes the following active substances - 200 mg of camphor, 200 mg of levomentol, 200 mg of chlorobutanol, hemihydrate, 200 mg of eucalyptus oil.

A spray tube is attached to the vial, when pressed, a stream of liquid droplets from the dispersed particles is formed. During storage, the emulsion may fade, which does not affect the quality of the preparation. In this case, it is recommended to shake the contents of the vial.

The drug "Cameton", the instruction indicates, has an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect locally on the ENT organs. Camphor racemic irritates and disinfects the surface of the treated mucous membrane, enhances blood circulation. Levomentol has sedative and vasodilating properties, a local irritant effect, combined with a feeling of cold, mild burning and tingling.

Component chlorobutanol hemihydrate anesthetizes inflamed tissues, inhibits the inflammatory process, disinfects the mucous membrane.

Eucalyptus leaf oil stimulates the function of the upper respiratory tract receptors, has a moderate local effect as an antiseptic.

There are no data on the pharmacokinetics of the drug "Cameton". The instruction contains information that the above substances included in the emulsion are characterized by low absorption.

The doctor prescribes the medicine with inflammation of the ENT organs in an acute stage: with rhinitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and other ailments.

To spray the spray in the mouth, you need to fix the irrigation tube at a right angle to the bottle. To treat the nasal cavity, the guide tube is placed under any convenient angle.

To apply the emulsion in the nose, the sprayer should be introduced to a depth of 0.5 cm, and then press it. It is important to ensure that the pressure coincides with the inspiratory phase. For one procedure, it is recommended to press 2-3 times. Treatment is designed for 3-4 inhalations per day.

The drug "Cameton", the instruction indicates, very rarely has a side effect, only in cases of individual intolerance of one of the components of the remedy. Perhaps the appearance of an allergic reaction, which manifests itself skin rash.

There are two contraindications to the use of this emulsion. Do not use medicine:

• For the treatment of children under the age of 5;
• With increased sensitivity to substances that are part of the drug "Cameton".

The instruction reminds that clinical trials confirming the safety of the use of drugs by pregnant women have not been carried out. Using the drug when bearing a baby, while breastfeeding, you need to carefully monitor possible side effects.

It was not observed that the drug "Cameton" -spray (the instruction on which application contains a recommendation to include additional pharmaceuticals if necessary in a complex treatment) interacted with other drugs. Systemic effects resulting from the use of this spray are excluded.
