Bavaria - attractions. Palaces and castles of Bavaria

Bavaria, whose attractions attract tourists from all over the world, is a truly magnificent land. There are many ancient palaces and castles that impress the imagination with their beauty. Everyone who loves Germany must know at least some of them.

Neuschwanstein

Today, this castle is considered a symbol of Bavaria. It is distinguished by its elegance and refinement. High, looking to the sky, he represents the embodiment of elegance. White-stone walls and patterned windows look very attractive. And at the top are the oval turrets, complemented by arched balconies and loopholes.

The castle is built in a rather unusual style. It is not often possible to see a structure that combines Late Gothic, Roman and Byzantine features. Only Bayern can surprise tourists.

Munich, whose attractions can be called quite interesting, is not so attractive to some travelers as Füssen, in the vicinity of which this castle is located. And in this there is nothing strange. In Munich, of course, there are art galleries, museums and temples, but Neuschwanstein surpasses them in many ways.

The castle looks great against the backdrop of the Alpine nature that surrounds. From afar it seems to be not real and, rather, it resembles the scenery for the theatrical performance. This is the most fabulous, delightful of all the castles erected during the lifetime of King Ludwig.

Excursion to the castle

Excursions in Bavaria are very popular with tourists. It is always interesting to learn something new. But an excursion to Neuschwanstein is something completely unusual. People climb up the asphalt path. Having climbed far enough uphill, they see a suspension bridge stretching over the valley. And down there is a waterfall, whose height is 45 meters. Some tourists prefer to stay half way and do not go any further. Definitely, they lose a lot. Going a little further, you can get to the place from where you can see a wonderful view of the unusual mountain world surrounding the castle.

Linderhof

This beautiful palace was also erected under Ludwig. The ruler of Bavaria was lucky that he lived to the time when the construction work was completed. Linderhof, in fact, is a combination of pompous baroque and elegant Rococo. Surprises a huge number of mirrors, enclosed in gold frames. All of them create an interesting effect - the area of rooms visually increases.

Interior decoration

The design of Linderhof interiors was worked by the most talented European artists. The walls are decorated with paintings and colorful tapestries. A lot of impressions are left from visiting the palace. Some even get dizzy from the abundance of vases, figurines, large porcelain birds and flowers, crystal chandeliers with many candles (however they say that they all never burned at the same time), marble fireplaces. Bavaria, whose attractions are known even outside the country, is a fabulous land where you can experience many unforgettable moments.

Altenstein

The name of this castle is translated as "Old Stone". It is located in the northern part of the small town of Bad Liebenstein. The castle was built at the dawn of the Middle Ages, and therefore fully justifies its name.

It's no secret that many people want to visit Germany, only to see similar sights. There are a lot of tourists from our country, because now it is not difficult to get a visa, which is necessary for a trip. Bavaria, whose attractions attract many Russians, is always glad to the guests, she welcomes them cordially, drawing her into her unusual world.

Restoration work

But back to the castle. Unfortunately, not one of the original Altenstein buildings has survived to this day. And in this there is nothing strange, because in this area there were always wars, and there were fires as well. Certainly there were other unfavorable factors that contributed to the destruction of the castle. But it was restored. And today this oldest attraction is no longer a fortified citadel, it turned into a luxurious country residence. Now reconstruction works are underway here, as a result of which, in a year, the castle should acquire a character typical of the late Renaissance. This was Altenstein in the middle of the XVII century.

Bavaria, whose attractions inspire artists and poets, is undoubtedly the best corner in the country, but it is recommended to visit Thuringia, where this castle is located. You can, of course, enjoy the photos, but the impressions will not be so strong.

Park and underground river

The castle, standing on the gentle side of the mountain, called Saxen-Meiningen, is also famous for its large park stretching for 160 hectares. Many are surprised when they learn that a river flows on its territory. Previously, it was on the surface, but as a result of the equipment of the underground tunnel, the riverbed suddenly changed. The secret passages under the park were completely flooded.

Reincarnation

Many centuries have passed since the founding of the castle, and for all this time not only its appearance has undergone changes. It is also noteworthy that he constantly changed hands from one master to another. Altenstein survived during the Inquisition, feudal feuds and world wars. In different periods it served as a refuge for Protestants, a country residence, a place of confinement and even a hospital. We can say that the castle Altenstein experienced several reincarnations. His fate was not easy.

Owners of Altenstein

Among the hosts of the castle are such outstanding people as Saint Boniface (he was called the German apostle), Thuringian landgraves, knights, electors from Saxony, among which was Frederick the Wise, famous for his favorable attitude towards the famous Martin Luther, reformer and Protestant. The latter, by the way, also lived here for a while, and where the old beech, named in his honor, grew, today there is a monument dedicated to this great man.

Restoration, exhibitions

It is impossible to count how many times Altenstein was destroyed and rebuilt anew. At present, it is considered a historical monument, and at the moment it is carrying out reconstruction works, which are held here regularly. Some rooms have already been restored, and now there are small exhibitions in them that can be visited by everyone. People are happy that there is an opportunity to visit this stunning architectural complex.

Excursions are held strictly according to the schedule, which tourists are informed in the information desk, located near the castle, in the premises of the former farm. When all the necessary work in Altenstein will be completed, an extensive memorial and historical complex will start working here.

Bad Füssing

All the cities of Bavaria are very beautiful, the conditions for living here are very good. Bad-Fussing is not an exception. This is a cozy town, which in 1950 began to be considered a resort. At that time, the Germans tried to find oil here, but thermal springs were discovered instead . Since then, people from Germany and other countries come to rest here. There are spacious streets, beautiful fountains, green parks and squares. In short, this place is rightly considered the pride of the country. Despite the small size of the town, there are as many as three large thermal complexes. Impressive, is not it? Everyone chooses where to go - to Terme-1, Johannesbad or Europe Terma. Judging by the reviews, tourists really like the rest in Bad Füssing, and they do not regret that they visited here.

Kelheim

Many travelers, coming to Bavaria, prefer to go to Kelheim first. But this is not because the city attracts them. Just here you can take a boat to the old monastery called Weltenburg. To swim, by the way, it is necessary through the glorified Danube rift.

Some inexperienced travelers do not immediately understand what is at stake. Not all have heard about this fault. What does he represent? In fact, this is part of the Danube, located between Weltenburg and Kelheim. Its length is 6 kilometers. Here the Danube flows in a deep narrow gorge, and above the water towering peaks of rocks, on which there are magnificent mixed forests.

If there is really a fantastic place in Germany, then this is undoubtedly Bavaria. Sights, reviews of which are full of admiring words, is a real magnet for tourists, which here every year becomes more.
