A spicate bandage. A spicate bandage on the shoulder joint

Acquaintance of children with the concept of injuries and bandages occurs even at school in the lessons of studying the basics of medicine, and at an early age. It is pre-school and junior school age that is the most mobile, the most active and risky. Many adults with knowledge of the matter will say which bandages can be applied at certain wounds. There are many dressings for wounds, but we now consider all that concerns such treatment of the wound as a spicate bandage. In general, bandages help prevent bleeding from the damaged surface of tissues, as well as prevent the development of infection.

Types of dressings

There are many complexes for treating damaged skin areas. They are soft and hard, depending on the purpose of their use. Soft bandages are most common, and they are divided into:

  • Protective - used when it is necessary to prevent the impact on the wound and the spread of the infection;
  • Medicinal - these dressings fix medications in the form of ointments on the wound, they are superimposed on the soaked napkin with antiseptic substance;
  • Immobilizing - fixing bandages, they are imposed to fix joints or other moving part of the body, for example, spicate bandage on the shoulder joint ;
  • Pressing - superimposed for an urgent change in the state, for example, if you need to quickly stop the bleeding wound, besides, making the bandage an elastic bandage, you can prevent various swelling, support muscles, etc .;
  • Corrective - superimposed for a long time, fixing or eliminating various defects.

Cases when the imposition of a spicate bandage is shown

Like all other species, this type of first aid in the treatment of wounds has its advantages and disadvantages. That's why it can not be used in any cases, but without it it's sometimes difficult to do. Most often, this bandage is superimposed on damage in the joint area, that is, it makes it possible to fix body parts before and after folding. A spicate bandage is superimposed on injuries of the shoulder, forearm, trunk, thigh, fingers and toes.

What are spicate bandages?

This way of assisting with injuries can be divided according to the overlapping characteristics and location. In general, the bandage, named for the location of the bandage layers in the form of a spikelet, can be:

  1. Descending - the bandage tours are superimposed below the previous one. Of course, as in all other ways, you first need to make fastening tours above or below the damaged location. When applying such a spicate bandage, the lower round covers the previous half or even 2/3 of the bandage.
  2. Ascending - is superimposed in the reverse order, that is, on the contrary, unlike the previous one. Tours now move upward by the same distance as in the descending spicate bandage.
  3. Two-sided - is used for injuries in the pelvic region. Restorative tours are done around the abdomen, then bandages one hip, then the second. Tours are gradually shifting up.
  4. A separate species is the spicate bandage on the perineum. The pattern of a spikelet in this form is obtained from the two outer sides of the hip and waist. Here, too, the tours are shifted to the top.

The basic rules for imposing such dressings

For correct treatment of the wound and fixation with a spicate bandage, it is necessary for the patient to provide access to the damaged site. For example, a spicate bandage on the shoulder is superimposed on the bare torso, since the bandage covers not only the shoulder joint and arm, but also the thorax. Muscles during the procedure should be as relaxed as possible. Here there is a nuance - with fractures and dislocations a pathological position is fixed. It is necessary to have fixing tours, as well as uniform stretching and stretching of the bandage. It should roll without long unwinding. Correctly imposed spicate bandage can be seen with the naked eye - it must have smooth and symmetrical tours, fixed with a bandage or a pin tied into a knot.

By what algorithm is the spicate bandage superimposed?

The algorithm for all kinds of spiked bandages can be illustrated by the example of imposing it on the shoulder.

  1. Around the arm or shoulder, two fastening rounds are made with a bandage.
  2. A sterile wipe is applied to the damaged area.
  3. After fixing tours from the axillary basin, the third round is superimposed diagonally upwards, passes the humeral surface, then lies on the back.
  4. The bandage is farther along the back, then through the armpit is drawn to the sternum, after that it goes to the shoulder.
  5. The fifth round of the bandage wraps all sides of the shoulder.
  6. There is an alternation of turns: the back-hand, covering the entire surface of the shoulder joint.

A spicate bandage on the shoulder is not difficult, it is important to follow all the rules for applying a bandage to the damaged area.

Do we need a special technique for spiked bandages on the finger of the hand?

There is a certain technique that helps to apply a bandage on your finger quickly and qualitatively. The ease of such manipulation is that there is no need to fix the hand with special tools, nor does it require a lot of material and effort. But nevertheless it is necessary to do everything correctly, so that the bandage hangs firmly on the hand. As in all cases, the spiked finger bandage is superimposed from two rounds, here they are fixed to the wrist. Through the back side of the damaged finger, the bandage should be taken out to the nail phalanx. Bending the finger, we carry out a bandage on the palm and the back surface of the wrist to the wrist with a cross-shaped stroke. After that, the restoring tour on the wrist is again done. Thus, it is necessary to do tours on the finger until it is completely closed, so that the previous course is covered by the next half. When the finger is bandaged, the final move is made on the wrist, and the ends of the bandage are fixed. You can fix the ends of the bandage with a pin, or by tying them together.

A spicate bandage is not difficult, you just need to observe the technique and rules for its application. Naturally, depending on the joint on which it is applied, the direction and appearance of the bandaged part of the body changes. It is better, if this medical manipulation will be carried out by a specialist.
