The jacket is the top part of the field, festive and casual form of clothing with a special cut, which is used in many countries around the world by employees of internal bodies and the military.

History of the jacket in Russia

At the moment, the exact origin of the word is not established. It came into use from the German language and means a robe or blouse.

In Russia, the first tunic is a long canvas jacket, which appeared in the 18th century as clothing for the economic work of the lower cavalry ranks. Later this name passed to an officer's white frock coat for a warm season. So he became a linen double-breasted closed jacket with twelve buttons, elongated floors and a standing collar. The tunic was worn with epaulettes. It was shortened many times in accordance with fashion trends, and in the early 20th century it reached the length of a familiar jacket.

In the Russian fleet, the tunic is part of a form of white and blue tones with five buttons in a buckle. Shortly before the war, the blue tunic began to be used in aviation as clothing for various works.

Foreign trends

In the navy, air forces and the army during the Second World War, wide-spread tunics of a renewed species acquired similarities with the models of France and England. They began to be called a jacket. Sewing the collar was the main accent of the design, it could be with a soft stand, like a collar of a tunic with buttons, or turn-down. Also there were overhead large pockets with clasps on the floors. Among the pilots of that time, the tunic is an English jacket with an unfolded collar and the possibility of wearing a tie.

The most varied cut in tunics appeared by 1918. The decree corresponded only in the navy, front-line formations and headquarters. But the new naval and military minister removed this order as well. He preferred a jacket-jacket of a free sample. Soon many of the commanders-in-chief of the armed associations followed suit. The old form was changed for a new sample, but not all performed this order, as a result, the uniform of the jacket also disappeared in the fleet.

The front jacket

In the internal organs and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a tunic is a dress uniform, which, from everyday work, does not differ either in color or in cut. In the documentation, a tunic for women is referred to as a jacket. With the exception of internal organs and the Armed Forces, a uniform is usually called a jacket. In the navy, the white and blue tunic is not used, but the name is used as a jacket.
