3d TVs without glasses have every chance to win the market

Producers of household and electronic equipment, driven by fierce competition, offer us new technologies and models, inventing and implementing them at a rapid pace. Until recently, there was a match between conventional LCD televisions and liquid crystal devices with LED backlighting, and now the market is filled with technology that allows to reproduce 3d images at home. 3D TVs appeared in CES and IFA exhibition halls only in 2010, and many well-known companies immediately started their industrial production.

3 D TV with passive and active glasses

Developing the technology of passive and active systems of voluminous television, world leaders staged a real race in the struggle for the client and for increasing their niche in the market. By using passive 3D technologies, LG and Vizio release their products, the active option is the choice of Sony, Samsung and Panasonic. Both technologies have advantages and disadvantages.

So, 3d TVs with passive glasses create a certain effect of a three-dimensional image, but the picture is dim and faded, and some of the color information is lost. Active stereo glasses with built-in chips control the shading of the right lenses. For the 3D effect in active glasses, the wireless synchronization scheme with the reproduced image on the TV screen is implemented using infrared radiation . The picture in the active glasses turns out to be more bright and qualitative.

But firm manufacturers, among them Samsung, obviously, in order to avoid judicial responsibility, published the results of research on the possible consequences of using 3D glasses. They show the damage to 3d glasses for human health. Side effects include dizziness, nausea, disorientation, convulsions, vision changes, fainting and muscle cramps. For these reasons, watching movies with a 3D image is not recommended for young children, the elderly and pregnant women.

3d TVs without glasses

If we take into account the fact that many consumers do not welcome the use of spectacles to watch programs and movies, 3d TVs without glasses are a natural next step in the development of 3d technologies. At CES 2011 Sony, Toshiba and LG presented their models that impressed visitors with the quality of the image and the novelty of technological solutions.

What is the difference between 3d TVs without glasses from previous models? They use the principle of two biased images, located very close to each other. To create a three-dimensional picture of our brain and eyes, nothing special to do is not necessary. Panels on which playback is possible should have a resolution significantly higher than the usual Full HD, namely, 1080p (1920 x 1080). They were called 4K TVs.

The panel broadcasts simultaneously two frames taken from slightly different angles. A special filter separates the two images and displays them with hardly different viewpoints. The eyes of the viewers perceive individual images, which causes the formation of a 3D effect. In this case, when the view is shifted from the active point, the volume effect is violated, and the person experiences the crosstalk in the form of a double edge of objects, or the 3D image disappears altogether. To make 3d glasses without glasses work, you must be in a certain area at some certain distance from the 3D screen.

Microsoft and other well-known companies are actively working to develop technologies that combine dynamic filters on top of the screen, a camera mounted on the TV and a system that can recognize faces or track eye movements. Such clever 3d televisions without glasses continuously adjust the filters to the current position of pupils of the audience, so that the zone of the best perception is kept in the field of view of your eyes. To date, the Microsoft application department already owns a prototype 3D display, capable of tracking four users simultaneously, displaying for them "spurious" 3D television. A similar technology is available in Nintendo, it has been used in portable gaming devices 3DS.

Active competition of firms and effective work on the invention of new methods of 3d television promises us, soon the market will be filled with quality, defective products at affordable prices. A broadcast of channels with a three-dimensional image will be the only expedient in a modern, rapidly developing world.
